A couple of the ESPN geniuses did indeed put OK State ahead of Iowa on one of the Sportcenter segments this morning. However they were admonished by one of the other hosts who said something like "You obviously didn't watch OK state barely get by ISU did you?"
That's what happened as I recall. It was 2002 and Iowa was running the table and national pundits were talking about Iowa having a pretty good team. Rome jumped on the bandwagon and praised Iowa once or twice and tried to get KF on his show. KF declined or didn't return his calls or something. Rome then immediately changes his attitude and Iowa sucks for every reason he can dream up. It was all about KF snubbing him.
I would have to actually tune in to ESPN or The Herd to find out. No thanks.
And I said tune into ESPN "or" the Herd..which he still calls his podcast/broadcast whatever he now does post-ESPN. So thanks though, I am caught up.
I did happen upon something not too long ago, which was billed as "Cowherd's daily anti-Iowa rant". He said nobody cares outside Iowa, the committee doesn't care, and brought up two things which I think are just stupid: that Iowa has no five stars on the team, and has no history like Bama etc.. Well, Colon, er Colin, you'd think a sports media type would be panting for someone new, instead if the same old schools, that is a real TEAM. Are they going to start rating teams now by personnel not on what they accomplish.? For myself I've never been for a playoff or even conference divisions.. Would rather the Hawks could win out and go to the Rose Bowl like they used to. Oh, yeah Colon, Iowa has been in the top ten several times and even voted NO. 1 on one poll!
