When does Anthony Ferrari join the program?

Gotta love a kid who finished HS over a year ago but somehow still isn’t eligible.
How did he get accepted into OSU out of high school, do they have lower requirements? Heard him say he’s taking 3 classes this summer, you’d think that would be enough to at least get accepted for 1st semester?

He never made ir there so it’s an assumption to say accepted.

Since he was at Oklahoma st and left he needs credits

Never was a student there.

Good on the kid for trying to get an education, by the way. I was harsh earlier and wanted to balance.

Since he was never a student there, it would be like so many kids these days taking a gap year. When they apply for college the next year, they only have to meet the same requirements coming out of high school. I’m assuming these 3 classes this summer were some credits in certain areas he didn’t get in high school that Iowa requires for all students to be admitted. Don’t know why he couldn’t be eligible 1st semester. Would be fun to see him and Chittum , but we want to win the meet, and Franek has a better shot at winning, especially with Anthony not competing for over a year. Chittum was competing all over the world last year.

That's what I've been saying. How is he not already eligible? Not that it matters at this point. The fact is that he isn't.

Iowa admissions said he needed a year of college credits so he's getting them. 2 summer sessions and 1st semester and he will have them done

My kids were all A students, but still had to look carefully at the class requirements for different colleges in Iowa. The curriculum

That’s strange since he hasn’t been a student yet. They wouldn’t expect a gap year kid to have a year of college credits, that’s the whole idea of taking a gap year. Must hold athlete’s to a different standard. When we were talking about AJ and what he would need, it was explained to me he would need a bunch of credit to continue to advance, even though he’s not in school, because he had already been a college student. This isn’t the case with his brother. It is what it is I guess, and we don’t need him this year.

I'm guessing his high school grades weren't good enough to get in so they required junior college credits. I think other guys have had to go this route.

MUCH lower. especially for athletes.

And how is he not eligible in the fall? Does he need more remedial credits beyond what he’s currently pulling?

If I was a betting man I'd bet AJ Ferrari never wears an Iowa singlet.
Is there talk?

Iowa has shown interest?

Sorry, seems like it's impossible to follow Iowa wrestling at the moment.

So much moving and shaking, I can't keep up.

Well there has certainly been talk, but that really means nothing. Because the talk is mostly speculation amongst fans. But I'm sure with two brothers already in the program AJ would certainly consider Iowa if looking to get back into the college scene.

The pull of 3 brothers all donning the same singlet at the NCAA level will prove too strong. AJ and the rest of the family won't be able to sit in the stands and watch his brothers wondering, 'if only'. Assuming his legal problems go away somewhat to his favor soon, I think it happens. PS - HWT.

I’m sure the coaches have talked to him if they have the two brothers and a big hole at 197. I’m sure it just hinges on his trial at the end of September, and if he chooses to wrestle instead of professional MMA.

Almost as much as you’ve gotta love an adult douche on a meaaage board that has never worn a singlet, let alone competed in D1 athletics, making smart ass comments about a 20 year kid working back to a D1 program.
He made amends, that’s pretty rare in the cesspool. Now pay it forward Ronald

Copied from U of I admissions web site.

University of Iow Liberal Arts & Sciences Admission Requirements.
To be considered for admission, students must have taken (or plan to take) at least 15 college-prep courses (full-year) including the following:

  • 4 years of English
  • 3 years of mathematics, including Algebra I, Algebra II, and geometry (Engineering requires a 4th year of mathematics)
  • 3 years of social studies (Engineering requires only 2 years)
  • 2 years of the same world language
  • 3 years of science, including courses in physical science, biology, chemistry, environmental science, and physics.
All other courses in these areas (above and beyond those required for admission), can be used in calculating the RAI.

You need an RAI score of 255 if you are out of state to be accepted.
RAI is:

3 x ACT/SAT equivalent
30 x HS cumulative GPA
5 x Number of years of high school courses completed in the core subject areas.

Another words, we’ll never now exactly why he has to take classes to be enrolled and have eligibility.
Most importantly he’s working on it.
