I grew up listening to Jim Zabel and Forest Evashevski calling the Hawkeye games so I keep thinking of Dolph as the newcomer even though he's been calling the games for 27 years. At some point he and Eddie will retire.
Listening to Mike Grimm call the Gopher game (hoping for some schadenfreude) because I had heard he is an Iowa guy and a good announcer. He is great - describes the action clearly and concisely, has a great voice, works well with the color commentator. What a great announcer. Any chance he could be persuaded to jump to the good guys when Dolph retires, sort of like when Wayne Larrivee switched from the Bears to the Packers because of he had always been a fan of the Pack (despite growing up outside Boston)?
Also as long as we're dreaming, how about Danan Hughes to replace Eddie when he hangs it up? Listened to him a couple times last year and he was great. I'm sure he wouldn't give up a pro gig for college though.
Who else might be good choices for the radio team?
