Ivy at the shore in Santa Monica. Amazing food. Lots of celeb sightings at Ivy....Moreso at the Hollywood location tho.

In and Out is just OK. Nothing more than decent fast food really. If your looking for a decent burger chain in LA I usually spend a few bucks more and go to one of the Hillstone Group (R&D Kitchen,Houstons,Gulfstream) they have a good burger. Also The Counter is a pretty good chain with a decent burger.

If you are looking for really good pizza in LA (kind of hard to find) Roccos Tavern has a really good NY style pizza and is a very good sports bar. I think its on Green Street in Pasadena. Just south of Colorado.

Other good restaurants I find myself going to a lot.

Din Tai Fung in Glendale (really good Taiwan/Chinese style dumplings). A treat if you haven't had the experience.

Kiriko Sushi . There are almost too many good sushi restaurants to recommend just one. Kiriko is in West LA around the Olympic and Sawtelle intersection. This is like a mini little Tokyo area of west LA. Lots of good japanese and Korean BBQ restaurants on Sawtelle here. Also if your at Universal Studios there are 6 or 7 really good sushi restaurants on Ventura Blvd in Studio City.

Mozza is probably one of my favorite Italian restaurants in the city. There is a cheaper Mozza pizza right next door that is really good also. It's in the West Hollywood area of LA at Melrose and Highland.

El Coyote Cafe is a LA institution for Mexican food and good margaritas on tap. Located in the Fairfax area of LA. Casa Vega in Sherman Oaks in the Valley is another one thats lots of fun and festive for larger groups. Are these the best Mexican restaurants in LA? Probably not there are a zillion and I have had amazing meals at little dives in a strip center. However, these places handle groups and are a lot of fun with good drinks.
