He actually made it up and down the court more quickly than I was expecting. He’s still got a bit of a belly which he can hopefully work on before next year but I think you can see that he has some quickness and explosiveness for his size. He’s still a project for sure but he looks a bit better now than he did at the beginning of the season I think.

Couple times on defense I thought he’d get beat to the rim but he moved his feet really well and walled off his opponent. I would have lik d to see him get the ball in the post a couple times to watch his footwork going to the hoop... oh well next time maybe

He also looked really fast sprinting up the floor a little before the one minute mark. His athleticism is better than I expected.

He looks waaaaay better. Looks like he's been working hard and getting conditioned over the year. I'm a little less worried about having just Nunge and Josh at center next year after seeing him play.

To me, he looked like he lost a little weight and was a little quicker.

Ok, let’s jump to good conclusions yet. He did that against Nebraska, not Illinois.

I'm mostly meaning how much better shape he is in physically. He was huffing and puffing early in the season and looked as out of shape as any college basketball player I've ever seen. Yesterday, he had a legit B10 body. After a full off-season of workouts and conditioning he should be able to provide 10+ minutes off the bench while being a solid contributor. Im not saying he's gonna be the next incarnation of Kofi Cockburn next year, just that he'll be a B10 caliber backup next year. Beyond that, too little exposure to project.

Big O is definitely big enough to do some damage, just need to make sure he doesn't hurt a teammate. He has probably learned a lot in this season, playing against Luka and Jack daily. He still has a ways to go, but he is in better shape and moving quicker than what we saw in the early season games. The team obviously loves him.

Hoping the young man develops and can be a B10 player! Pretty slow, doesn’t move his feet on defense and after running the floor 3 times it looked like he could barely get across mid court with 30 seconds to go. Just watched his 3+ minutes again with the nice tip and dunk, but he is a LONG way away from being a contributor.

He's got work to do with dropping some lbs and conditioning, but he looks a little lighter, doesn't he?

I think Josh will get into shape well enough to carry significant minutes in the post. The harder part may be getting all the plays and defenses down, as he just hasn't had much time in the system.

I'm encouraged about his future, as long as he doesn't get homesick. And I'll bet he's already learned a lot from Luka.
