Where was Wadley?

Not sure, thought he would be perfect to attack Nebraska's edge, the weaker area for them.

That was my impression, Storm. Canzeri was on fire and hitting the holes fast. Daniels was struggling. It would have been tough to pull Canzeri for Wadley, as well as he was playing. Plus, he's a senior leader and the ideal guy to have in there to close out the road win.

We'll need Wadley next Saturday. I expect we'll see him.

With the way Canzeri ripped off those long runs, I doubt we needed the #3 on the depth chart. Plus, being an underclassman and having prior fumbling issues/carrying the ball away from his body on a VERY cold day, probably a good coaching decision to keep him on the sidelines unless we needed him for an exotic/end-around/reverse type play.

He's had some ankle injuries though I am not sure of the severity of it. Also, I'm not sure what he brings to the table outside of Canzeri-- they are the same type back. Just my opinion.

It was a weird game. There weren't any of those long sustained drives where Canzeri needed rest. There just wasn't a lot of need to go away from the primary back

If you were at the Purdue game you would have noticed he got a couple of carries and did a good job but had a very noticeable limp on the left side. We were surprised they even played him at all given what we saw.

My guess is Canzeri had the hot hand and is a senior. He was awesome yesterday! Ball security given the tough conditions might have been a concern too so you go with the trusted senior.

We were able to rest Wadley another week now going into the B1G championship if we need to call upon him. This has been a huge luxury this season that we have 4 capable backs to go to and they all have delivered.

I like Wadley with his shiftyness. What are the yards per carry per the two? Would be nice if he was healthy. My thoughts are we see him next week. He's a bit of a show boater, but if he does well I can live with a little bit of it.

Coach F has the memory of an elephant when it comes to guys that fumble, guys that score too quick for our defense or guys that are not practice all americans. He'll see time again when both Canzeri & Daniels are unable to play due to injury. This is my biggest issue w/ the coach. To me, we need all three of these guys are they have different styles & pose a threat to the defense. When you consider our wideouts are nearly always below average (including this year), we need to use all of the offensive talent that we possess. When coach has a bad dream, I think he is dreaming that we might have a B12 offense someday & that is not something he could live with/handle:)

Looks like to me we are reverting back to the old conservative offense and defense.
Did we even take more than one shot downfield yesterday? How many pass attempts were more than 15 yards?
I love the 12-0 just don't want Kirk to go back in his shell.

I think the weather factored into the game strategy quite a bit yesterday, It appeared to me that CJ really struggled getting a get grip/feel for the ball, That is why I don't think you saw a lot of downfield passes, He was very inaccurate on his short to mid level throws. Sometimes a conservative game plan is indeed a smart game plan, Yesterday was a prime example.

Not to mention, we got CJ out of there about as healthy as could be. We didn't ask him to do too much other than protect the football, which is fine when considering that we're gonna need everyone to be as healthy as can be.

Maybe someone can verify, but I've been told CJ hasn't even practiced (physically) for 6 weeks now.

They will be practicing indoors this week to prep for "perfect" field conditions. I would expect to see a bit more explosive scoring than most of the late year games. Wadley, if healthy would be a great weapon indoors.

CJB should also stay a bit looser as well.

Ok. Makes sense, thanks for the input guys.

It was all about the weather. After you stand on the sidelines in that freezing wind, it's tough to go in and handle the ball. Look for the four deadly horsemen to be riding tall and tough indoors at Indy.

And besides, Iowa only ran 44 offensive plays, so there weren't many opportunities to go around.
