Redshirting, I believe.Didn't play and didn't see him when the team was in huddles at timeouts.
Incorrect. That’s only in footbal.Maybe he has an injury?
Even with the redshirt, he’s still afforded a few games he can play in. Laketa has played in the past two games and he’ll be redshirting.
BUT...Incorrect. That’s only in footbal.
I thought that was changed this year to be similar to football. Otherwise, there’d be no way Laketa would be playing in any games.Incorrect. That’s only in footbal.
JBo played about 8 games a couple years ago and then redshirted (or medical redshirt). Some clarity needed.Incorrect. That’s only in footbal.
Medical hardship waiver, not red shirt. He was injured and opted to play less than the max allowed (30%). Red shirt players must not play in regular season games.JBo played about 8 games a couple years ago and then redshirted (or medical redshirt). Some clarity needed.
Then I’m really confused as to Laketa playing. The whole plan all along was for him to redshirt this year as a preferred walk-on to help him develop strength (similar to Nick Baer). Then see where he’s at; is there a role for him on the team in the future or, if not, to help him find a team to transfer to.Medical hardship waiver, not red shirt. I believe Fran in the past has said he leaves redshirting up to the players and let’s them decide. I would assume with some guidance from the staff but ultimately the player’s decision. Potentially Laketa isn’t planning on being in college more than 4yrs so didn’t take the redshirt? Hard telling what the situation is.Then I’m really confused as to Laketa playing. I could see this especially with walk-ons. I like that he is playing because it gives him a chance to get a little D1 court time. He can red shirt later when Kingsbury isn't.I believe Fran in the past has said he leaves redshirting up to the players and let’s them decide. 10 games played I believe for a medical waver, and that was all planned out ahead of time. Jbo wanted to play through the ISU game IF he could and that was the maximum number of games he could play and still get the medical. Of course he and Fran already knew where he was at with his hip injuries, so that was planned from the beginning, allowed him to leave his shoes on the court at Hilton...JBo played about 8 games a couple years ago and then redshirted (or medical redshirt). Don’t really understand how they haven’t changed this rule. Especially considering more games for basketball.I thought that was changed this year to be similar to football. Otherwise, there’d be no way Laketa would be playing in any games.
