Was just thinking this earlier. Alot of players are going to come on the market and they'll likely get picked up by other big time programs. Maybe we can snag one if they fit the Iowa mold.

I think they have a 6'3" WR from Indiana. Since Bell is a pipe dream, probably a good idea to explore that possibility.

Urban is not coaching at a MAC school. OSU recruits do not usually come to Iowa as a second option if OSU does not work out for them. In addition, it is not like OSU is facing NCAA sanctions.

Iowa needs to get a better relationship with the local car dealers to get those type of recruits on a regular basis.

Agreed that he's not an "Iowa fit". But he's a 2020 recruit. OSU as of today has 15 verbals. Don't know if Iowa could/would flip any. I hope they make a few phone calls.

This isn't anything close to the Penn State debacle and look how they have survived. Maybe a new coach but life goes on, just like before.

Considering only 2 of OSU recruits held a Iowa offer, none.

KF will not make the first call. Also, if one of these recruits does come calling, KF will go to the interim coach first to clear it with them.

That is how it was handled with Penn State.

It would be great to get Bell. Just my gut, but I don't think he's an "Iowa fit". Now Kirk wants him so he must be a good "fit". But Kirk rolls the dice a few times in every class. For example he took Nixon knowing that he wasn't a scholar. But KF looked at the pros/cons and said, "Let's do it."
Personally, in the end I think Bell will prove to be too high maintenance. If I'm wrong then Iowa wins. The good news is Kirk will have lots of options over the next several months so he shouldn't have trouble finding what he is looking for.

O$U will bring in a big time guy. They have more resources available to the football team than two schools put together. If Urban does go it will fun to watch the dominoes fall around the country next winter.
