March 3 (Reuters) - The United States is drawing up a plan to potentially give Russia sanctions relief as President Donald Trump seeks to restore ties with Moscow and stop the war in Ukraine, a U.S. official and another person familiar with the matter told Reuters.

The White House has asked the State and Treasury departments to draft a list of sanctions that could be eased for U.S. officials to discuss with Russian representatives in the coming days as part of the administration's broad talks with Moscow on improving diplomatic and economic relations, the sources said.

I mean they told us.

If Russia pulls out of Ukraine, I'd be more than happy to ease sanctions. This is the route they should be taking against Putin. Now they are easing sanction and getting nothing in return. Master negotiator.

No,.. that is not what's happening here.

One way to "negotiate" is to give the other side everything they could possibly wish for!

So what is happening here?

Per the article, they are asking for a list of sanctions that could become part of the initial conversation,... Nothing has been offered, and very likely that nothing will be without complementary Russian concessions,.. This is just a list of potential poker chips that US negotiators can carry to the game...

Correct. Making a list of sanctions to ease, is step one in giving them what they want for nothing.

are you blind deaf and stupid. What are you not seeing here.
We aren't playing poker, we are just giving stuff away. A once might nation forced to cower to russia because our leader is either afraid of putin or in bed with him. Take your pick, both horrible.

So if they ease sanctions, any sanctions, on Russia and get nothing in return, will you criticize the Trump administration?
