Who Are The Best Play by Play/Color Commentary Combos?

Joe Garagiola and Curt Gowdy/Tony Kubek were great baseball announcers.

Wayne Laravee is my local favorite/Iowa/Packers...

I watched a Garagiola / Kubek game with Dodgers.

They were talking about the Dodger third base coach, and the signs for the batter. The 3rd base coach put his finger to his nose, and Kubek asked Joe what that sign meant. Joe, without missing a beat, said, "pick out a good one".

Ron Franklin/Mike Gottfried

Jim Ross/Jerry "The King" Lawler
Add Tony Kubek to Vin and Joe and you pretty much nailed it.

I didn't realize there were so many old fvcks on this board. I was told that we get smarter with age so what happened to the majority on here?

Keith Jackson and it doesn't matter, Keith was good enough to make up for the other guy.

Gary Thorne/Bill Clement
Steve Levy/Darren Pang

Both of those teams on ESPN in the mid 1990s for hockey were fantastic. Thorne and Clement might be my favorite team ever in any sport.

Al Michaels/Cris Collinsworth is probably the best team of the weekend.

Joe Buck will go down as one of the best broadcasters ever. His team with Troy Aikman is very good.

I'll say this, Buck is FAR better with football than baseball. Watching him and McCarver doing a baseball game makes me want to punch people, and I'm generally not a violent person.

I didn’t intend to stump for Buck here, but seriously are you a Cub fan?
