Normally not my thing, but I was reading the Economist a few months ago and they had an article on Josephine Tey. She was a contemporary of Agatha Christie who was widely respected during her time. I scrounged around on Amazon and found 3 of her books, and they are excellent considering she wrote them in the late 20s-30s. Other than no mention of cell phones and Facebook, they are a remarkably timeless read.
