Who is Taylor Lamont?

Kid from Utah Valley just stuck Zeke Moisey.

Seems pretty darn good...

REDSHIRT (2016-17): Redshirted the 2016-17 season for the Wolverines ... compiled a 20-5 record while competing unattached at 125 pounds ... won titles at both the Cowboy Open and the UVU Open by going 4-0 and 5-0, respectively ... named the Most Outstanding Wrestling at the Cowboy Open after winning a title in his first collegiate event ... placed fourth at the Harold Nichols Cyclone Open with a 6-2 record and also posted a 2-2 outing at the Southern Scuffle ... won six bouts by major decision, five by fall, five by decision and three by tech fall.

Before Utah Valley ...
Prepped at Maple Mountain High School in Spanish Fork ... a four-time Utah High School State Champion and tabbed a four-time Most Outstanding Wrestler ... won a pair of Reno Tournament of Champions titles ... went undefeated throughout both his junior and senior seasons in high school ... finished his high school career with a 244-9 overall record ... helped lead his team to a state championship his freshman season as well as three runner-up finishes ... a four-time Fargo champion (two in Greco-Roman and two in freestyle) ... also a four-time Greco-Roman World Team member and recently earned bronze medal finish at the 2016 Greco-Roman Junior Worlds.

I said after Zeke got runner up that he'd not AA again. He had a huge run, and I just don't see it happening again.

If I remember correctly, he and McKee had a pretty solid rivalry for a stretch in High School. #26 recruit who was actually projected at 141. If he is making 125, he has to be very big and strong. Considering that was a characteristic of Moisey, Lamont had to be a pretty bad matchup.

Taylor LaMont is a dude. No ties to Utah Valley or him as a high schooler but live in Fargo and have had the privilege of getting to see some of the best wrestlers come through the Fargo Tournament. Taylor has been one of the best to watch not only win that tourney but win it multiple times. Been waiting to watch him make a splash on the NCAA scene. He will be around come March.

Ok MSU, I hope your team beats the Evil Empire for the Big Ten East. (Btw, Hawk football fans, awesome game!)

He'll probably rep the US in Greco at some point but the young man is solid in all styles. Yes, he and Mitch McKee have duked it out. I think the last times where Lamont winning Fargo freestyle and McKee winning Greco.

Yep -- Lamont is a stud. Was pretty highly touted as a recruit. I was surprised he went to Utah Valley -- expected him to land at a higher-profile program.

Taylor lost in the semis as did Moisey, but Grant Lamont just beat Krivus to make the finals

MSU is correct he did have a little rivalry going on with McKee for a bit. Very good Greco guy he’s from Utah and his older brother also wrestles for UVU. He’s one of the guys who’s college careers I’ve been anxious to watch, saw he lost to the kid from Virginia in the semis though

lamont beat moisey in consi finals 6-4, both lost to guys they shouldnt have in the semis

Prediction - Moisey will be a low all American at best this year. Wrestlers will be ready for him and some of his neutral techniques won't fare well with the new rules.
It’s very possible he’s a showtime wrestler like Meredith we’ll find out in March
