Maybe in more populated areas, but disco wasn't big in the Iowa until the late 70's after Saturday Night Fever came out in 1977. I graduated in 1978 and disco was big my first two years of college (UNI).

I think the first half of the decade was Jimi, Janis & the end of the 60’s. Transitioning to the Eagles, Allmen Bro. & Doobies. Then second half it switched to Saturday Night Fever, ELO & Abba. Choosing one group? I would agree Eagles or Doobies sounds about right.

I always hated the BeeGees & Disco, but they certainly are a top choice also.
