That's a pretty slick piece by student reporters.
Was just going to say this. Proud of the old SJMC on this one.
Because many people are not going to comb through an assessor's website or Beacon and this is bringing them the information in a clear and digestible form. Are you someone who would rather sift through meeting minutes as opposed to reading a news story about a meeting that includes context and comments from those in attendance?
This name was in my news feed yesterday for some reason? Something about selling his properties? Not sure how Tracy ended up in my algorithm?
I'd like to own some of those million dollar properties though!
You apparently don’t live in Iowa City. There was a massive building put up over the top of the older historic properties at that address. And it’s ugly AF.

It's an interesting read but I don't view it as some exceptional piece of journalism.
DA SJMC WAS MACK'N BROADS WITH THE BRUSH STROKE OF BILL SHAKESPEAR. STUDENT JOURNALS TOLD THE CHICKS TO GO HANG WITH THE FOOTBALL WIMPS CUZ THEY DIDNT HAVE TIME FOR THE UNARTICULATE, ONLY SPELLING BEE CHAMPS AND PULITZER WINNERS. MERLOT AND BRANDY ONLY AY THE SJMC HOUSE, NONE OF THEM BUSCH LIGHTS FOR THE DUDES IN SALES!!!
It's solid local enterprise/business reporting by college kids — nobody said it's going to win a Pulitzer. They took public records that are seldom viewed or known by most people, and packaged it in a new way that informs readers about their community.
They built a big residential building called The nest behind it. I believe that is included.
