Who to watch out for, Saturday.

So, gimme 3 guys on both sides of the ball, as to who to watch out for, Saturday?

PSU offense-
#26 - Saquon Barkley- he is a human highlight reel. You'll stop him for 13 straight plays, then BOOM.....he'll break of an 85 yarder.
#88 - Mike Gesicki - 6'6 and 250. He creates matchup nightmares for Defenses, and catches everything in sight.
#9 - Trace McSorley - He is a smaller Ben Roethlisberger. He is so good, when the play breaks down.

PSU Defense-
#2 - Safety- Marcus Allen - a ball hawing safety who plays like a linebacker, and is a playmaker
#15 - CB - Grant Haley - he is "Johnny in the spot". It seems like game changing plays are always on him.
#40 - MLB - Jason Cabinda - a fierce competitor, who is the leader of the D.

So what say ye, Hawkeye faithful?

1. Chuck "Big Ass Turkey Legs" Ford - my man sells these aforementioned big ass turkey legs outside Kinnick Stadium. Your throat better come strapped with a Gat

2. "Vodka Sam" - this Jezebel of the Kinnick Stadium stands could blow y'all away with her .341 BAC. May have since been banned from the stands but y'know...details.

3. Josey "The Hitman" Jewell - He craps bigger than you and might just pound your heart six feet into the dirt

wadley will break ankles
fant could have as big an impact as your TE
MVB though easley and ISM could have a good game

Jewell hopefully plays a good game
Epenesa if he plays much
Jackson....could use a pick 6 by him :D

is marcus allen related to marcus allen?

I think the biggest factor this year compared to last is the offensive play calling. It has been very different than what Greg Davis was calling. A lot less predictability (something even PSU players mentioned and fans watching at home) with Brian Ferentz.

Will it work? No idea, but at least your players won't be as prepared.

Iowa Offense-

RB Akrum Wadley- He is OUR human highlight reel. Incredible speed and change of direction, he looks like something out of the matrix. A high-stepping home run threat every time he touches the ball.

TE Noah Fant- All he does is catch touchdown passes. Runs like a deer and, only a sophomore, may prove to be the best of our long list of NFL tight ends.

THE LINE- Joe Moore award winners as the best offensive line in the country, they open holes you could drive a dump truck through and give Nate Stanley ample time to hit an array of playmakers for big chunk plays.

Iowa Defense-

LB Josey Jewel- "The Outlaw" is all over the field, expect this future 1st or 2nd round draft pick to look to re-introduce himself to Barkley early and often.

DE AJ Epenesa- A 5* freshman who had offers from everyone in the country, he chose Iowa to play under the bright lights and this could be a national coming out party.

CB Josh Jackson- An athletic who is always in the right place at the right time. Covers like fly paper and never misses a tackle, looking like he could be Iowa's next Thorpe candidate.

This will be the best of college football on display Saturday, with 2 high-octane offenses exchanging big plays and a couple of the meanest defenses in the country laying the wood. I think Penn State keeps it close but I have the Hawks 31-27, once again slaying the dragon under the Kinnick lights.

Offense:
1) TE Hockenson - While your LBs are busy keying on Fant, Iowa's 2nd TE is turning into Nate Stanley's other security binky.
2) RB Toren Young - Now that Butler is out for 3 games, redshirt frosh Toren Young is the new powerback at #2. He showed surprising speed, shiftiness & aggression
3) WR Nick Easley - Ez E may be a walk-on, but he's a Julian Edelman type that Stanley loves.

Defense:
1) DE Parker Hesse - Very heady DE. Not a physical specimen, but smart, always in position, and key to holding the edge.
2) DB Josh Jackson - Mr. PBU. He is gaining pro attention even as a true sophomore. Better than Dez King in coverage. Guarantee he gets 1 INT on McSorely.
3) LB Josey Jewell - of course, Mr. First Team All American, the Outlaw, must be on this list. Is he healthy? Looked a little gimpy and slow last week. If he's hurt, Barkley and McSorely will feast. If he's healthy though, Barkley will likely end the day on the injured list.

Offense

1. Three headed monster at RB (Wadley (#25), Young (#28) and Kelly-Martin (#21))
- everyone knows about Wadley. Young is the power back and true frosh Kelly-Martin is showing signs of being Iowa's most natural RB that I've seen since Shonn Greene.

2. Nick Easley (#84)
- from JUCO obscurity to the starting lineup. He is quick and has very good hands.

3. Noah Fant (#87)
- just too much ability to not list him here. Already several big plays and so far a TD scoring machine. Will go down as one of Iowa's best TEs ever.

Defense

1. Anthony Nelson (#98)
- poised for a breakout year, the 6'7" DE will do nothing but improve.

2. Ben Niemann (#44)
- sure tackler and very good cover guy. LEO in the Iowa D doesn't grab headlines, but is crucial to the defense's success.

3. Manny Rugamba (#5)
- I'm guessing that Jackson (#15) won't get a lot of throws his way with the reputation he's already establishing in his short career, so I'm going to shed some light on Rugamba who will likely see more action. Maybe some maturity issues here, but no questioning his ability. Iowa is much more athletic at CB than they have been in a long time.

Maybe I have watched the wrong PSU games, but I'm not sure Ben is the guy I would compare Trace to? Both very good, but that seems like calling Barkley a mini Jerome Bettis. What am I missing? Seriously, I could be wrong. Haven't watched a ton of PSU.

Offense

1. Nate Stanley, QB. Kid is special, is QB eye candy, throws darts and a nice touch pass, 10 TD's and 1 pic so far, first QB at Iowa to not redshirt (last year) since Drew Tate, who was all B1G and conf champion. Iowa has a QB with NFL written all over him for the first time in a very long time.

2. Akrum Wadley, RB. PSU will try to take away the run but Akrum will out of nowhere, shake a jock or two onto the field and create his own damn space. Deceptively fast, playing with a great deal of confidence.

3. Noah Fant, TE. Already been covered.

Defense

1. Josey Jewell, LB, a Chris Spielman type of player...is 6'2-6'3 range with great instincts. Will be all over the field.

2. Josh Jackson, CB, the type of athlete you'd expect to see at tOSU.

3. Manny Rugamba, CB, our best corner coming into the season. Makes big plays in big games (see amazing ball skill pic at Michigan game last year)

I can't believe ol Ced Lattimore hasn't come up yet. He's been asked to hold Rush lanes this year -- but we're turning him loose. He'll probably only end up with a sack or batted pass, but you can count on him squeezing interior gaps shut and putting OL on their butts. He's going to be an absolute nuisance if you're thinking about running between the tackles.

PSU'S TE'S have killed us the last two times we've played them. Gesicki scares me plus their o-line averages over 315 lbs.

I am a big Hawkeye fan. I don't think Iowa will be able to stop Barkley, probably close to 180 yards rushing, McSorley, best quarterback Iowa will face. Their defense is better. Going to be tough to run on. They will blitz Stanley all day. Tough day for him. I hope I am wrong. Wadley is going to have a long day. Iowa won't get much pressure on McSorley, if they do, he will scramble out of danger.
