It has always been my feeling that if a kid doesn't want to be here, open the door and wish him well. I prefer players that want to be a Hawkeye. Just relax fans, we will be O.K. We still have some talented players and there are still many options available. Have patience and faith. I still have some eligibility left. I am 67 with a right knee replaced but I can still shoot free throws at a high clip. Lol.

I want to be a Hawk but I wouldn't help the team at 6'1" and haven't shot a men's ball in years due to coaching junior high.
Oh and I'm past my athletic prime but I could shoot(ish) while not being able to rebound or defend 1 on 1. Am I in?

I could shoot at 6'3" with a 40 inch vertical back in the day. That's why my knees are shot now. I could still dunk into my late 50s. Those days are way behind me now. Time to play golf instead.
Unfortunately it seems that Fran will be able to sell a lot of immediate playing time to players in the portal. Tough to see things fall apart after last season.

Yup - being the HC of the Iowa basketball program is like trying to blow up a balloon that has a hole in it.

I'm sure I'm missing many disappointments along the way. Hawks just can't seem to get to the top of the hill, even when it is close.

Half the team is gone but "We'll be OK". Yeah. Wish I could believe that. Next year is going to be brutal.

I agree in my years following the Hawks except the late 50's Rose Bowl and number one ranking. Little did I know it was the first and last.
They could get the job done. I can also pull up from the Tigerhawk logo and miss. Also still good?
I once got asked why I never played college ball after dropping a 40spot in rec league, the guys words were “i mean you’re way better than lickliters kid” 🤣🤣 Damn that hurt being compared to lil lick 😆
