Both the engineer and conductor have died. I hope the trucking company and the driver are both held responsible for not establishing and maintaining a proper route. This occurs far too often with lowboy semi trailers and it's almost always unnecessary. Something else I'd like to point out to anyone reading this: All railroad crossings have posted ENS signs that will link any caller quickly to a railroad dispatcher. They're the small blue signs you may or may not have seen. Making that quick call can easily prevent tragedies like this one.

the other day, I know a person, cannot see. should not be driving, anywhos, goes right down the railroad tracks thinking it was the road. ha ha

did not get hit luckily and the cops let them go. towed and impounded the car

Yep, loaded low boys should avoid crossings with a rise. Bet the escort drivers will be questioned repeatedly.

Curious if anyone is in the industry and knows how they split liability. Surely the driver will be held liable, but wouldn't the escort company share culpability? How often do these turn criminal?
