Fan in Black's comment in the Mary Tyler Moore thread got me wondering this.

I'd have to say Dawn Wells (Mary Ann). Everyone talks about her great personality, but she was also smoking hot.

I was also a big fan of Jan Smithers (Bailey Quarters on WKRP).

When I was growing up we only had the 3 major networks and movies on television were generally much older films. So I found myself admiring the younger version of actors who were at the end of their careers or even retired.

Good call on Bailey!

If Ward wasn't too hard on the Beaver, I'll go with Barbara Billingsley. She spoke jive, too.
To this day, BB as the jive lady is quite possibly the most brilliantly inspired casting decision in movie history. She was absolutely the perfect choice for that scene.

Even if she doesn't count as wholesome.

She's from Canada, so she must be at least a little wholesome.

Anyway. ...
1.) Old school...the actress who played Ellie May Clampett on "The Beverly Hillbillies".

2.) More modern (for you young bucks)....English actress Sophie Cookson, who plays Roxy in "The Kingsmen". A little British accent goes a long way.
