Whoa! Sasso Done

Super sad story. I saw him at one of their home duals last year. He was interacting with teammates just a few feet in front of me and he nearly fell multiple times. It’s amazing he was even able to compete this year.

He was not their best option at the weight this year, very admirable he stepped aside.

Yeah, I think this is the honorable way for him to say "yeah, I know I'm not the best option for this position and I don't want you to even consider giving it to me if I can't earn it". Nothing but respect for him. I think the B1G should honor him (with maybe a minute or two tribute video or something) at the B1Gs next week. He definitely deserves that.

That would be awesome if that happened. Amazed he was able to step back onto the mat, and I wish him all the best!

Once he picked tOSU I never rooted for him on the mat. But I've been rooting for him in life since the shooting. I hate to see it end this way for him, but I respect him for all he's been through. I wish him the best.

I was really hoping he was going to qualify for the NCAA tournament this year so he could get a proper goodbye from all the fans. Much respect to him for putting in the hard work to be even able to compete again. As was mentioned, it was also a classy move to step aside, knowing that his performance wasn't where it needed to be heading toward the post season. And for those who didn't know, the suspects in his shooting pled guilty. The non-shooter juvenile will probably be confined in a juvenile detention facility until she is 21. The juvenile shooter was charged as an adult and is looking at a sentence of 11-15 years in state prison.
