Who's #1? Thread

Berge actually kind of looks like he could be a 149 lber.. Looks noticeably smaller than Griffith IMO. But still so good it doesn't matter really.

Berge looked good to start. Seemed to lose a little steam. First match since February probably didn't help. Griffith didn't seem to make some adjustments too. Nice attack by Berge to finish it off in OT.

What happened in the Teasdale match please?
Teasdale tried a double unders throw right away in the match, and got caught on his back for 4. Given an escape, then taken down at the end of the 1st period, to go down 6-1.
2nd period, goes down, gets an escape, then hits a inside trip to Decaturs back for 2 and 2. Decatur escapes period ends 6-7. 3rd period, Decatur has 1 stall warning starts down and gets an escape 6-8, Teasdale goes after him quite a bit, but Decatur not just running, almost hit another sick inside trip to his back but they kind of froze and rolled through the position and no points awarded. Decatur gets his with another stall with about 30 seconds left or so, and the match ends with Teasdale losing 8-7.

Brewer is dominating Ramos, 8-0, four takedowns first period. Wow now a 4, TF 12-0 for Brewer. Ramos didn't get a single attack in.

Guess Iowa wasn't such a bad place to train after all.

Never seen Tony get dominated like that by an American on his feet. Too much going on between the ears as far as having to prove something (without being at Iowa) IMO. Also could be because he is coaching and not training full time. He's better than that.

Hey Tony...pick yourself up, dust off, and get your head back in the game for 61kg trials.

Gotcha...figured since he wrestled that at the Cup he might give it a shot.

When and where are the trials for non-Olympic weights. TIA

Berge would thrive at Iowa. He's extremely heavy on the head and has an excellent go behind. I think the brands were pretty good at those.

It wasn't a throw Gavin tried. it was a foot sweep. He tried it 4-5 times. It's normally a low risk attack. I gotta give Decatur props here. He's a stud. It sounds like he's a tosu lock.

Lee is going to be very very good at penn state. Zain Taylor type.

In the pre interview Tony said he wanted to take time with his transition to a new training style and not go to this world team trials and focus on 57kg for next years trials.

Practice hasn't even started yet. He's hardly spending his time walking around with a whistle and a clipboard or doing paperwork.

So the guy( Mickey Labriola) that Kaleb Young took down, cradled upped and pinned in the semi's of super 32 last year in less then a minute is now the #1 guy after beating Travis Whittlake? Labriola did beat Young at state earlier that year. Clearly Young has been progressing well. I'm excited to see how his RS year goes.

Kaleb does seem to be getting overlooked a bit. Kid seems to possibly be one of those who makes great leaps in college.
