That is also ridiculous.

Getting rid of abortions does not take away the woman's franchise nor does it prevent her from making choices in terms of career, marriage, sexual relations, freedom of movement and pretty much anything else in life.

It only limits her choices after pregnancy has already occurred. It also limits the father's choices as well.

Ironically, you may be partly on to something (though it's the opposite of what you believe). While lack of reproductive freedom by religious conservatives dramatically curtails women's rights ... post-reproductive 'liberal freedoms' for women dramatically curtails men's rights (or at least did, until recent changes that go some distance in levelling the playing field for men).

Bottom line, Americans already spend more than enough money on taxes (including federal, state, local, sales tax) and health care premiums to pay for infrastructure, health care, safety nets, etc comparable to Europe or Canada (or close). Now it's up to congress to spend more wisely, efficiently and cut the waste. The root of the problem is conflicts of interests in Washington. Congress sucks. They have an interest to keep this mess going. That's really what leads people to vote for candidates like Trump (which is really the equivalent of breaking the window to see what happens) and Bernie who they see not the status quo.

One more point, when you listen closely to Bernie he says the same thing, just not directly, not sure why. He talks about the wealthy controlling congress but if that's true congress has to be willing and able to be paid off so I blame congress.
