When Israel has boots on the ground we have all kinds of stories about human rights abuses and protests in European and American cities against Israel but now its like crickets.

Fixed the title that might help. The rest I think is pretty self explanatory.

I see it now. My guess is that people protest if they think their protests will move the needle. So an American protesting Israel makes sense, because we have leverage there. An American protesting Syria bombing ISIS doesn't make a lot of sense. People also protest things they care about. Americans care about Israel. We don't care that much about Kurds. Those are some of my ideas. What are yours?
