Why does Anthony Fauci need a Pardon?

I want to know why @cigaretteman thinks a Professor of Chemistry and Chemical Biology warnings about the danger of the gain of function research conducted at the Wuhan lab for years up to at least 2018 is funny.

Any ideas anyone?
Everyone had understood the dangers of gain of function research for years. But it was still common because of the benefits.

He obviously lied to congress and funded gain of function research.

He's a cultist. I'm not even being hyperbolic with this statement.

Not that I don't automatically believe a random tweet from misinformation social media but what exactly did he do that was illegal and would require a pardon?

And yes, pre-emptive pardons should not be a thing that ever exists.

That is precisely what I would like Joe Biden to answer!

He lied about funding gain of function research. I believe this was under oath, but I'm just going off memory .

Well, if he's guilty he needs to face the consequences.
Fauci tried to redefine the definition of gain of function research as a way out, so there is some gray area here. not sure how this would go in court though.

I have issues with the way fauci tried to cover up the lab leak theory and silence any voices who opposed his views. I also have issues with the funding gain of function research in China that was banned in the USA under obama. I don't know what specific crimes were committed, but on an ethical level he was corrupt.

And if illegal things were done, then consequences need to be faced. I just wish our need to investigate things were far less partisan driven. If we are going to investigate this so thoroughly, we should be investigating why Jared Kushner got $2 billion right after Trump was out of office with as much vigor.

If Fauci didn't do anything wrong, he doesn't need a pardon, right?!
Correct. Although it's just some random post on misinformation media spouting off. Anyone that reads something off that crap site and immediately believes it shouldn't be allowed to hold sharp objects. I guess I'll wait until something with some credibility starts talking about this before getting my pitchfork.

Do you think big pharma (or the medical tech/research/healthcare) is doing what is in the best interest of the people? What do you think they would be willing to spend to keep the profits coming in? What would they be willing to sacrifice? Do you think they would be willing to admit fault if they are not forced to?

A proper way to address the ethics of gain of function research is to have a conversation and to weigh the risks vs. benefits. Obama put this research on hold so we could take some time to re-evaluate those risks vs benefits. Fauci just shipped the research over to china where it would be done in a less safe environment.

That seems like a problem to me when the whole reason it was put on hold in the USA is because it created a major risk for a pandemic of a novel virus.

If I had used my position to go after my political opponents I might issue some Preemptive pardons too, especially when my chief political opponent I worked so hard to destroy was going to have the authority to return the favor...

So you're in favor of a weaponized form of government?

Would you like a large pitchfork or a smaller one that handles with ease?

lol. The petulant child is taking the oath shortly. He doesn’t take the job seriously and will likely have many other petulant children doing his bidding.

With that level of immaturity and uncertainty, the outgoing sensible adult is trying to alleviate some worrying of other adults who actually took their jobs seriously.

That is to answer idiot OP’s question.

Shit for brains doesn’t even realize that he will no longer be President.

You can't pardon crimes against humanity in fauci's case

Admission of guilt for all involved though
