Does it all come down to money and brand name. With the contract coming due in a couple of yrs. and fox owning something like 51 per cent of the big ten channel are they trying to down grade the big ten. It started last yr and has been amping up lately with Iowa's emergence. How much money a and jobs lost if big ten signs with fox sports. To me this seems stupid because the big ten viewing area has to be their biggest market in college sports. Would any company run down their own product? To me this is a a$$ backward approach. Doesn't seem like a good model to follow.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$ - and it's been more than a year or two. It's about making money and they are absolutely biased. Too bad it's getting tougher for them to push their agenda now that we have a committee choosing the teams vs. the BCS.

Yes. It is about the money. That is understandable and justifiable. It will only change when their justifiable bias loses them so many viewers that the bias becomes a net negative.

It's because there are a lot of crappy football teams that are boring as Hell to watch in the Big Ten. ESPN doesn't hate the Big Ten during basketball season. Why? Because it's a great basketball league.

Of course. ESPN hates the B1G and some of the most populated states in the country in which they reside. They hate all the cable-viewing sports fans in Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, Penn & NY - they hate them as much as we hate Purdue! In their corporate Board meeting yesterday, they instructed the "entertainment staff" to set aside any personal feeling they might have and instead show total hate for the B1G. I heard Rece Davis got a big bonus and a sloppy kiss for saying Oky was better than Iowa.

I looked it up in Wikipedia. People that agree with HR are smart, fair and unbiased. People who don't are biased, greedy haters.

They have Oklahoma #1 in their ESPN FPI poll.
Kirk Herbstreit acts, as if he is under orders from the four-letter, trying to sell Oklahoma at all costs.
Who would've thought that Joey Galloway would be better than David Pollock and Kirk Herbstreit, combined?!
Rece Davis, as always, is very solid.

The FPI poll has no relevance as it relates to the playoff rankings as I understand it. I don't know the inner workings of that ranking system, but it seems flawed based compared to what the playoff committee has released.

Folks, we've known for weeks that we aren't going to get the benefit of the doubt from the likes of ESPN and/or Coward, so I'm not sure why we continue to worry them? All that matters is the next game on the schedule, all this other stuff will work itself out.

ESPN cares about ratings. Ratings is money. For whatever reason we as fans seem to care what they say. In fact, they only care that we watch and listen. They are like politicians, they create controversy because we watch. Sports is entertainment. Enjoy it.
