Why does Steve Stone want to work

Well, some people say it is the legendary loyalty of Jerry Reinsdorf that keeps Stone around. He forms great relationships with people in his sports empire. The Sox are appealing in many ways for Stone. They have Spring Training in Arizona where his off season home is. He has longstanding ties to Chicago.
Every now and then he chafes at Harrelson, and, he has had to cover a lot for him this year. I never saw it reported, but, for some reason Harrelson had some unexplained gaps in his play calling this year. Literally a minute or so, usually coming out of a break, where he wasn't in the booth. Plus, he did take a few weeks off for a medical condition. Maybe Stone has always been gunning for the top spot and thinks Harrelson is about ready to retire.
