Why have liberals been quite about Syria for 4 years?

I'm confused on this. All the big heart liberals here have demanded that we have no choice but accept syrian refugees (you are 100% bigot racist if you don't)- how can you turn your back on the suffering?

Yet for 4 years, over 250,000 have been murdered and almost all by terrorists. Over 100-200 are dying daily, yet it's these 10,000 that HAVE to come here. Typical liberal hypocrisy? I'm guessing it's 73% male refugees because Obama sat on his hands while the truly innocent were slaughtered.

Its because it wasn't politically acceptable to go to war and prevent this type of mass murder and exodus from happening in the first place AND now it isn't politically acceptable to turn away refuges and, in fact, can be used as a tool to help divide and concur for the next election.

Our leaders do not care about these people, they care about how they can use these people's plights to help them get elected/re-elected. Both sides are in it for themselves vs being in it for humanity.

Oh sure it might be the humane to do now to take them in but it certainly wasn't the humane to allow a tyrant to butcher its own citizens in the first place. Unfortunately, as I have stated before, we are in the shit now...might as well play all of our cards to achieve the best possible outcome.

I think that's wrong for a couple reasons. First I want zero refugees brought here, house them close to home so they can get back there after Russia takes the country over.

Second you're missing the dig at ManLifer's political philosophy by pointing out he should just take personal responsibility and take advantage of the opportunities the market allows him to act with regard to this issue. I'll clarify. Obama and the CIA started this crap in Syria. Then they let Assad struggle fighting his own people letting hundreds of thousands of citizens die without doing a thing. Then when the situation is so horrible that half the country flees, he (and the rest of you minions) take a firm stance that we MUST protect 10,000 refugees or else conservatives are racist. Never mind the 250,000 that he let die without a peep from his followers. Does that make more sense?

Whooaaaa....totally thought you would be on the other side of this. Good to see liberals that can see some of these things with clear eyes and long vision vs a short term emotional pull at ones heartstrings (which everyone's hearts should ache for these refugees).

1. Why cart these folks half way across the globe.
2. Would a M.E. devout practicing Muslim really have an shot of assimilating into American culture and values (I would hope so because we are so wildly awesome BUT I have my doubts).
3. Does anyone really want to be chased away from their homeland? I get wanting to escape violence but most people have a emotional attachment to their home (I think we should train these refugees so they can go fight for theirs with our help).
4. If we disperse these refugees do we forget about the enormity of the problem, out of sight out of mind sort of deal...a UN safe zone means we stay focused on fixing the problem.
5. Potential Terrorism - we can't just ignore the possibilities bc it isn't PC to talk about them.
