I looked at the Power programs upper weight AA's (184, 197, hvy) over the last 20 years.

MN.......... 40 AA's (hvy 16, 197-14, 184-10)
IA..............28 AA's (hvy 10, 197-8, 184-10)
OKie St....25 AA's (hvy 9, 197-9, 184-7)
PSU..........21 AA's (hvy 5, 197-9, 184-7)
OH St........20 AA's (hvy 7, 197-6,184-7)

Brands........................................................................... 16 AA's in 10 yrs for 1.6 average per year.
Zalesky........................................................................... 11 AA's in 9 yrs for 1.2 average per year
Sanderson.......................................................................9 AA's in 6 yrs for 1.5 average per year
Ryan..................................................................................9 AA's in 10 yrs for 1.1 average per year
Smith..................................................................................25 AA's in 20 years for 1.25 average per year
JROB.................................................................................40 AA's in 20 yrs for 2.0 average per year

Conclusion #1: little guys (Brands x2, Smith, Ryan,) can't coach heavy weights. Minny has dominated upper weight success due to coaches such as Marty Morgan, Eggum, Berhow, and now Nelson.

Conclusion #2: Sanderson is very happy that he is the greatest recruiter in wrestling history.

Please add the 3 additional that Iowa would have if not for injury.. 1 for Telford and 2 for Stoll. Our board, our rules.

The Hawks are looking at bringing in Brock Lesnar to take Morningstar's spot after the 2017 season. It will be an all heavyweight and lightweight coaching staff in 2018!

Can't coach hwts? Looks to me like iowa has the 2nd most AAs in your little chart. MN has been better in the upper weights but Iowa has been better than everyone else.

Changing topic a little bit. For a long time I though Minnesota had the strongest team physically. Seemed like every guy was yolked. Now I'd say that claim goes to the Ohio State. When a wrestler at Ohio State goes up weight class, by the time they wrestle that weight, they fill it out nicely. I'd like to see Iowa do this a little more. Young, the bull, and Gunther all at 165 it'd seem that at least one of them could be on a full feed growth plan for 174.
