He's filthy rich and he believes in vaccines.
Becuase MagMuricans are really really stupid and they can't admit that Trump hasn't handled things well so they as well as their Dear Leader look for scapegoats.

I designed some of the marketing for Zune, some MTV Spring Break stuff sponsored by Zune, actually. I knew when I was designing the stuff that it was a doomed product. Now, being a Mac user, I had a well-developed bias. But still. /csb

This is timely. Just this week, one of my family members back in Iowa started posting on Facebook all this batsh*t crazy, tin-foil hat, conspiracy garbage about Gates trying to implant the Mark of the Beast via his vaccine and ID initiatives. I was shocked at how many uneducated geezers immediately jumped in to endorse his posts.
The last time I looked, the Gates Foundation had $45 billion in it. The Gates Trust, the sole purpose of which is to make distributions to the Gates Foundation, had another $45 billion in it.
Warren Buffett, whom I respect, is going to put most of his estate into the Gates Foundation.
$90 billion, one day to be $150 billion (?) at a spending rate of 5%, means $7.5 billion to fight the problems of the world every year .... forever.

That was posted on my Facebook as well by someone who should know better. Somehow supporting Trump seems to cause a person to lose their ability to think rationally.
I watched a long interview of his wife, Melinda, sometime last year. She talked about all the stuff they are doing and was really impressive. He's a pretty awkward guy, but she is really polished.

Bill Gates is not evil but many, rightfully so, distrust him. I am not referring to citizens here but those in developing countries who have been f'd in the past by rich white men telling them how to behave and run their societies, to have it blow up in their faces. Many think that the Gates foundation is secretly conducting forced sterilization through their intervention programs. My biggest problem with Bill is that although he's bright, he's either tunnel visioned or getting bad advice. His malaria programs have pretty much gone nowhere and he's bet the farm on the Moderna mrna vaccine. I wouldn't have done that but I don't got kazillions. And oh yea, he was a ahole in the past much like Jobs, who didn't really de ahole himself. A good treatment of Bill is in Pirates of Silicon Valley, which he doesn't deny happening. He was an azz to Paul Allen, who I actually admire and passed away too soon.
I considered it, but I loved this image of Bill looking as annoyed and exasperated and disappointed with the apostrophe pandemic as I am.
Meh back in the day when he was running Microsoft they where clearly trying to leverage their power to create monopolies for themselves.
