Why isn’t the Big 12 putting out top talent?

Just saw where the 12 went a consecutive year without a first rounder. Is the league that devoid of talent of just bad luck?

Other fun tidbits:

ISU adds another notch to the belt to cement their status of worst 1st round selection program, making it to 50 drafts. The next closest team is Indiana at 29.

The FCS has more first round picks this year (2) than the B12 has had in 2 years (0).

Texas is tied with Tulsa for the number of 1st round picks over the last decade.

Pretty simple the NFL has an axe to grind against isu and the awesome defense that is played in the Texas Ten.

If only recruits and their families would quit watching ESPN or other media outlets that cover the NFL and the draft this wouldn’t be an issue for isu or other members of the Texas Ten.

Or maybe we can just add this to the count that tallies how many times isu fans show the world they have an adversarial relationship with reality. I am sure they will be by soon enough to tell us how it really is.

If any fan base can rationalize failure or not living up to expectations it is isu’s.

Because it doesn’t have any good teams.

People should really start saying power-4 conferences.

Along with being tied with UNI for number of first round picks in their history they have this tidbit……
“Marquette is one of seven defunct college football programs with more first-round picks than Iowa State. The six others have two apiece: Boston University, Detroit Mercy, Long Beach State, Saint Mary’s, San Francisco and the University of Tampa.”

I wonder if the TV Execs that will be negotiating with the Texas Ten for media rights in the future will take note that the NFL doesn’t see their players as worthy of 1st Round status?

This couldn’t impact future revenue now could it?

Won’t know until the post COVID pivot table is concluded. There must be a ton of extra information for this one as it sure is taking longer than the previous one did.

CID, you should know by now that using reality based data points isn’t playing fair with esteemed members of the ultra classy isu fan base. Please refrain from doing this in the future as makes isu fans extremely uncomfortable.

It simply isn’t “fair” that Breece Hall wasn’t born 40 years before he was so his skill set would have been worthy of a 1st Round selection. I mean this is what clown fans are rationalizing today. If only Hall was in the draft in the late 1970’s or ‘80’s the streak would have been broken.

But isu still has the most dominant football program in the state because clown fans say so. Pollard proclaims isu is the “Bear” and clown fans eat it up. How dare ESPN folks talk about how well KF does at developing players, don’t they know a lawsuit is going on?

SEC: 12

Big Ten: 7

Pac-12: 4

ACC: 3

whar "big" 12? The only P5 conference without a player taken in the first round.

Might be hard to get a good NFL grade on the B12 players when almost all the teams are in shotgun playing paddy-cake football all year while also having under sized OL/DL out there. I have no idea on how any of these teams sell players who want to go to the NFL to go there.

ISU has also only ever had 6 second rounders in their history, which is just as surprising as only ever having one first rounder back in 1973.

Didn't Cincinnati have a player drafted? They'll claim that I'm sure
Crazy thing is the B12 might actually have a talent upgrade when they bring in these G5 schools and UT/OU leave.

Nobody is going to watch the product, but they might have more talent for a little bit when compared to now.

It took KF about a decade to top their history of 1st-2nd round picks?
Nope doesn’t count, isu fans say so. They don’t have any need for data that crushes their delusional thoughts and beliefs. They tend to live in the world of “alternative facts”.

It is the true isu “culture” Pollard and isu fans are always squawking about.

1) I think Texas HS recruits are overvalued.
2) I think there aren't really good developmental programs.
But there will be some good Big 12 players that get picked in the next couple rounds.

Perhaps if Head Coach Matt Campbell had a goal of winning conference championships, he would attract more talent, which would lead to players getting drafted.

So the Lions have drafted 15 Clowns and are consistently one of the worst teams in the NFL. The Packers have drafted none and are consistently one of the best. Coincidence?

remember when that dumb ass @Psyclone was going to come back with his updated viewership figures for Clown U? we're still waiting....

but here's the reality that obviously hit him square in the face: The new Big 12, minus Texas and OU, have zero teams in the Top 20 Most Watched Teams and because of this, the new Big 12's (minus Texas and OU) next TV contract is gonna be really bad.

Here's a look at the Top 20 Most Watched Teams.

Breakdown by Conference:

7 B1G Teams
10 SEC Teams (including Oklahoma & Texas)

1 ACC Team
1 PAC 12 Team
1 Independent (Notre Dame)

0 Big 12 Teams

Nope doesn’t count. Pollard says that isu will get through as they always have and “everything is wonderful”. Their “5 star Culture” will take them to the promise land and it can’t be replicated by anyone else on the planet. He said as much on the radio recently. Well at least I think he did in between saying “you know” 57 times.

In the 2018 recruiting class, Texas and Oklahoma had three 5-star and 29 4-star recruits between the two of them. The fact that not one of those elite recruits was taken in the first round in 2021 and 2022 is pretty unreal.

Given what we saw last evening... I'd say the McDonald kid, Ronald?, a DE... has a good chance to break the ISU drought next year.

But the garbage football the Big 12 plays is just video game football.

That "program" is not worthy of playing a home and home with Iowa. Maybe we can be graceful and let them play in Kinnick every 5 years or so like we do for UNI. But Iowa should stop subsidizing that athletic department by playing in that shit hole stadium every other year.

Makes you wonder why the SEC took them anyway :)
