I guess I just remember when Gable coached and Iowa wrestlers showed more intensity.
VJ vs. Gunther
VJ drops down to a quick ankle pic single and gets the TD.
Cuts him...2-1
HC for VJ...close to OOB...gets the TD as he switches to a double.
Rides him now, quick chop, rebuilds...stand up, return.
Escape 4-2 VJ
Pace slows down, Gunther gets hit with stalling...VJ with another shot and scores...minute left.
Standup....escape by Gunther....6-3
STanding FHL by Gunther...OOB.
Gunther working an underhook, VJ tries to shoot HC thru it...nothing

Biggest difference I've seen between us and them - strength. Accept for the back up at 133 we were the weaker wrestler in every match and the strength advantage allowed psu to do what they wanted when they needed it. Even Gilman looked weaker than Suriano.

Our middle weights wrestle too upright. Meyer is the prime example and all you have to do is watch how he allows the leg so easily against even middle ranked guys.
Hall to his feet, Meyer heavy pressure down....now he's out.

Nice win by Meyer. Kept wearing him down and scored when he needed it. It did not look like Hall was going to win that matches soon as it started. Meyer had the look of the winner in my eyes.
I respected Bo till his little gesture.. unless of course he really does have hearing problems..
It's reference to BIGs. He did that then and said Iowa should cheer for him.
If he stood over Brooks and did something then that would be taunting. Very weak taunting if you want to call it that. Not like Iowa wrestlers have never done anything.
Except turn the corner or shelf it and come up. Have to finish quick on Nolf and Bo or you'll get it like that with their long arms. To be honest, I expected Hall to do it as well because Meyer's head was close to his knee quite a few times.
And I wouldn't condone their behavior either.. so like I said, I lost some respect for him with that gesture.
PSU will win this meet but won't be smiling on the way back to Happy Valley.
