Wieskamp #20 overall; #3 SF at Top 100 Camp

It's so nice to see Iowa High School players receiving accolades such as these. I can well imagine Iowa basketball taking a huge step forward in the coming years, only proving that sometimes one has to be a little patient with the fisherman if lake is not full of fish.

I'm so glad that no strange time limit to get better quicker was imposed on Fran or his assistants. Because in the coming years I suspect we'll have reestablished some of our now ancient traditions and history and watch our area of influence, our recruiting footprint, grow like the bare foot of a young Sasquatch!

As we like to fondly recall Raveling's recruiting, some of it had to have something to do with the still recent Co-Big Ten Championship and the following year a Final Four, and subsequent top two regular season Big Ten finishes for repetitive years. Knowing that, I am excited and believe that we're going to see better out of state recruiting as well in the future.

Dang .... how exciting is the next era of Hawkeye basketball going to be!

Very, very exciting.........if players develop at an average pace and the team defense improves this team will be very good. IF we have some players take significant steps forward and decide they want to lead the league in rebounding, assists, and team defense we will be a top tier team.

Only way that big Ricky's ability to "attract recruits" will change is if he dies, retires, or is banned from coaching.

Agree now is/was not the time to be making short-term demands. Barta or whoever the AD is would be an idiot to put any pressure on Fran when he has a Top 20-40 type player coming in the 2018 class, with another coming in 2019 (McCaffery). That on the heels of a Top 50-75 player in Cook and you really have something. Sprinkle in a few more Top 100 types and the future is bright. I would imagine that the presence of Wieskamp and Patrick Mc might encourage other good players to hop on board, at least that's what I hope.

Lol. Are you saying he got moved down because he's uh...pigmentally challenged? :p

If ESPN does their basketball ratings anything like football, he got moved down because he's committed to Iowa. If he was Kansas or Duke bound, he'd be Top 25.

Or, they didn't have any guys around to watch him.
