Wieskamp goes 46 tonight

Please Fran hide him away until he signs his National Letter of Intent next November.
Just got home from the game......First...WHAT A GAME!!!!!!! Second, I swear Joe scores his points so quietly! You look up, and before you know it he has 20+ points. I think he is avg 40+ his last 5 games. Joe is amazing at this point!!!!!

I also was at the game, North might have the quickest team in the State of Iowa as they were all over Joe all night but he just fights so hard on offense. Joe struggled with free throws late in the regulation and first ot but came through in the second ot. I think he made 20 from the line that I counted. He's a bad ass on the court.:D I lost count of his rebounds.

Couldn't find stats, but saw article about Tuesday's game. Muskies were up 21-2 at quarter and 40-10 at half against Burlington. Did see Joe scored 8 in 2 OTs and had 15 rebounds for this last game.

Quick and mighty Dav. North has lost 9 of their last 11. The fact that Joe can score big against the top MAC teams is impressive, however.

I have not seen him play; is the greatest % of his points from 3's, or driving the lane, mid-range, etc? Otherwords, how do his points breakdown?

Thanks in advance.

It will be hard for him to win 6 consecutive titles if he is one and done.... unless you are including NBA championships.

Sheesh folks...

Just scares me to hype a guy two years before he even gets here. I know he must be good given the hype. I hope it works out great for us and him!

According my rough calculations, he shoots alm ost 44% from three AND 68% from two!!! And add in 81% from the line. The kid can shoot from anywhere!!!

81% ft and 44% 3pt are pretty good. Bohannon/Jok/Gatens had better FT shooting...81% FT is good, but pure shooters are usually up near 90%. Wieskamp might be more slightly athletic version of Gatens, that hopefully can go to his left.

His team only scored 31 last night. Joe had 19 in a 52-31 loss to Pleasant Valley.

Rumor was PV blanketed him and had actually 2 guys on him. They let the other Musky players shoot and they couldn't throw it in the Ocean. Tough night for Joe, but it took 2 defenders to shut him down. Also PV is pretty good defensive team.

Good players have "bad" nights. Cedar Falls with A.J. Green played Pemsl's team, Dubuque Wahlert (5-12) Tuesday, and Wahlert, playing without their leading scorer and another starter, held D1 guard Green to 2 points in the first half last night, and 13 for the game in a 49- 46 loss to Wahlert. Having seen the game, I am so happy we are getting Joe Weiskamp and Connor McCaffery! Green has offers from the BIG's Nebraska and UNI, among others.

Green only had 3 shots at half, and plays within his high school system. Wahlert didn't shut him down, CF shuts him down. Tough situation.

What are you talking about? As someone who has seen a lot of CF tape this year, I can assure you CF runs their entire system through Green,

My point was that Green had a bad night, like all good players sometimes do. Wahlert didn't do much very special on him. When the game stayed tight at the end, CF ran all plays through Green and he took a lot of forced or very contested shots when the defense collapsed on him. It was a game either team could have won, for sure. Both young teams, and CF should be very good next year.

Isn't PV one of those 4A teams that plays such a style that they trick observers of Iowa high school basketball into believing that they need a shot clock?.............It's a 4A school issue, I know that. Just couldn't remember which teams were guilty of creating this delu-I mean illusion.

PV is always fundamentally sound and yes they "lull" you asleep when they are offense. They will pass it around 6-7 times and work it until they get a good shot.

They are always tough defensively as well. Joe had to earn those points the other night and it was probably tough when being blanketed by multiple defenders.

Joe with 31 tonight and took over the end of the game in beating Bettendorf 57-51. The kid was great once again.

FYI, Bettendorf was #9 in the state last night and had beaten the snot out of Muscatine a little over a month ago. So they are no slouch.

Joe was slowed down last night against West high but win game 55-51.

0-7 from 3 point land
4-13 from field
10-10 from line
7 boards
2 assists
4 steels
4 blocks
18 points

Had some rim rattlers and West did a good job defensively on him but Joe didn't seem as active as he usually does.

Joe with 29 and 13 boards last night beat a good North Scott team for second time this year 69-61.

Muscatine has a better cast of players than most give credit for, they are a scrappy bunch of juniors on the team with Joe and should be pretty decent going in to next year.

I'm not questioning the kids personal commitment to Iowa but do we think many of the big time programs will still come calling down the road?

They have been after him Sota.......But, Joe grew up a HUGE Hawk fan, and I know he REALLY wants to be part of the group that takes this team to new heights. He is NOT in the same mold of character like the football commits we have seen bolt for Michigan and elsewhere.....

GO HAWKS!!!
