Where’s the step forward? He hasn’t gotten any better than last year and Iowa needs him in games like this

I’ve always heard of the sophomore slump. I think it’s real. Seems like most good players take a step back year 2. I’d be curious to know why.
He's hurt. Doesn't look to be putting full effort out there, so maybe more Bakari.
This makes sense to me but man did Bakari get abused on the high screen! It was brutal to watch him being destroyed!
It would be nice if some of Connor's demeanor would rub off on Joe W.

You rip Connor game after game and now you want more bakari? Wtf?He's hurt. Doesn't look to be putting full effort out there, so maybe more Bakari.
Totally agree, Joe needs to get tougher, both mentally and physically. Plays way too soft. Teams are going to focus on him more this year, being a preseason all-Big player. It would be nice if some of Connor's demeanor would rub off on Joe W.
I know IC isn’t NY/LA, but someone in the media needs to pose questions like this to Fran.I hope he was sick because Joe W's defense was atrocious

As long as it gets asked....repeatedly....so Fran starts feeling some heat about his defensive approach to the game. It’s not about the player, but how they’re being coached. He is not going to answer it and throw his guys under the bus.
If he has mono there's no way he should be allowed on the courtThere’s been a lot written about Joe W’s health. It would be fairer to him if Fran would clarify what (if any) the issue is. If it’s his elbow I’m not sure that causes the lack of D. If it’s mono the kid is really gutting it out.
We can all agree his D has been lacking and he hasn’t been showing the level of effort we’d hoped for. Has he got the NBA tryout disease or just what is ailing him?

Well for one....he's not an alpha male..he's quiet and I'm guessing passive aggressive. Which also probably means he's not an effective communicator.
No doubt. Anyone that watched him play in high school would debate that statement. I think the NBA discussion, really messed with Joe, and put his mind in the wrong place.Strange post.
