Bohannon is currently 2nd, and needs 19 more 3-point FGs to tie Jon Diebler. https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/conferences/big-ten/leaders/fg3-player-career.html

With anywhere from 2-9 more games left, the record is certainly reachable if the Hawks keep winning and Bohannon keeps sinking 3s.

For example, if the Hawks get to the Big 10 championship and then the Sweet 16, Bohannon would need to average just over 3 3-pointers per game to tie the record.

It really depends how far Iowa goes. BTN Championship and Final Four would mean 8 games, and he would have to average about 2.5/game. Based on the realistic odds, it's more likely that Iowa plays closer to 6-7 games. But I can easily see a scenario where Iowa plays a 15 seed who aggressively focuses on Garza so Bohannon takes advantage from deep with 6 or 7.

I voted no but only because I think that Garza is going to do some big damage in the Dance. Few teams have the bigs to match up with him without doubling. If they do double, yes Bohannon will benefit, but teams will quickly realize that Garza is going to get his and that the key to beating Iowa is shutting down our guards through aggressive perimeter defense (easier said than done obviously)

His haters on here do not actually care about accomplishments like record 3’s or record assists. They are losers in life, but experts on all things basketball .

I voted no but i hope to be proven wrong! If he breaks it that means Iowa goes deep into the tourney. Its definitely possible

Would absolutely love to see it!! That being said, I'm guessing if Vegas were posting odds, it would be a tad long. I'd give it about a 25-35% chance.

I think we probably have 5 more games (conservative guess). He would need 4 per game to get the record. That's a very tall order.

Having been shorted a few non conference games this year as well as last season's BTT and NCAA, I think he's going to just miss the record. That being said, I hope I'm wrong.

If Joe doesn't play this weekend, we could be a 1 and done in the BTT. If Joe doesn't play the rest of the season, then I think we get three or possibly only two NCAA games.

So worst case scenario is 3 games left. Best case is 9 games. If we play 9 games he gets there. If we play 3 games he doesn't. If Joe is health and JBo goes on a sustained tear of 5+ per game, then we likely keep winning and he has the record locked up the first weekend of NCAAs.

Having seen what he's done this season, he's been very streaky. A game where he blows up followed by several where he barely scores. So I voted no based upon our history of both BTT and NCAA tourney performance. But I hope I'm wrong.

Um, he wasn't playing in the BTT and the NCAA last year, even if they had it. If anything, that extra 10 games from his redshirt year gave him a better shot at it, but I think his slow/passive start to the year doomed his chances. If he breaks it, good things are happening for the Hawks.

But if Joe doesn't play, perhaps JBo gets to shoot an extra 5-8 per game

Last year he was really given 10 “freebie” games which actually worked out to 20 extra 3 pointers to his career.
