Will IOWA be giving its WBB players $400,000/year from the $20.5M/year in revenue sharing that is to come?

Posted on your other thread, but WBB at Iowa deserves same or more than MBB by all metrics.

Note that Ross Dellenger of Yahoo Sports reported that the standard across the main 4 conferences will have 90% of the revenue share going to football and men's basketball players

Obviously roster sizes come into play, but I would also assume they've taken a look at the market to understand what the rough cost is for various level athletes in each sport. For example, does a top tier guy in MBB command much more than a top tier WBB player?

Isn't Title 9 strictly related to number of scholarships and not NIL or revenue sharing?
It may be, BUT I still wouldn't be shocked to see someone challenge it in court once this money starts rolling in. Real NIL has worked fine for the top women. Laying 90% of this windfall on mens sports will be challenged, I'd bet on that. Obviously football will get the lions share, but the rest remains to be seen.

My problem with the one size fits all model is schools that takes WBB more seriously than many that don’t shouldn’t have to live under a model predetermined by overall conference prioritization.

Title 9 was passed with no thoughts to Athletics, Athletics just became the face of it after the fact.

I would not try to venture to guess where the courts take Title 9 moving forward.

(I am not stating an opinion either way, just a fact on Title 9 and a fact that I have no idea what future court decisions will be and the impacts of those decisions)

I don’t know what is fair, I will just say I would be disappointed if the WBB program only gets 2%.

There could be lawsuits coming.

Scott's response:

The settlement gives the schools a starting point. They’ve lost every suit to date. When it’s enacted, there will be other suits like a shockwave. There will be a Title IX challenge that the money should be disbursed by male-female student ratio, not with 90% or more going to football/MBB. And others will come. But that’s the price of not making any changes a decade ago.
