Will Iowa be ranked tomorrow!?

Ok, pump the brakes. Yes, they'll be ranked, and yes, this performance was not what we were expecting, but with a 24 point win and not even hitting our ceiling, still a good thing. Changes will come in play and possibly personnel

ok ok, maybe the defense doesn't deserve to be ranked. Offense deserves to be ranked top 10. Better?
I saw a defense play cover 2 for 40 straight plays in the second half. Never rushed more than 4 on any play. A defense will give up a lot of yards playing that vanilla.
The defense played without it's starting MLB/captain the entire game and a starting DE for 3/4ths of the game.
What did you see?
If a defense doesn't shut out the opposing offense are they automatically a failure in your eyes?
The team won by 24 damn points.
Keep in mind, outside of Iowa City and a few people in Ohio all anybody will see of this game is a score that makes it look like a blow out, Wadley and Daniels looking pretty good on a couple of runs, and Iowa's defense creating three fumbles.
The first week is always hard to judge teams. You will have teams that open up the whole playbook and just bury lesser teams, then you will have teams like Iowa that will play very vanilla as not to give anything else away and just play to win by only 21 points. MSU is being talked about as a great team and they only beat Furman by 16, so should that make us way better than them? Then teams like LSU ( who I think is extremely overrated) lose to a Wisky team. Over the next 2 weeks we will know more about these teams and where they belong in the rankings.
Hawks jump out to a three TD lead and win by three plus touchdowns and were never pressed. Even a paranoid like me doesn't translate that in a drop from 17 to 26 or below. Hawks won easy and will move up one spot. The blow out next week will look good on the resume...and so it begins.
Some of you are hilarious. You act like we were playing Michigan or something.
Defense was obviously not good but we could have never thrown the ball and probably put up the same amount of points.
Do you remember when people use to complain about Iowa playing down to their competition? Well we won 45-21. It's the first week of the season. Even when things are good people have to bitch about somethin I guess lol. Go Hawks.
Take this first game with a grain of salt. There have been seasons where Iowa wins by 40+ and still finishes only 7-6 or thereabout, and others that have come down to the wire only to finish 11-2.
Move on to the next week and focus on shutting out ISU.

Since the new rankings won't be released until Tuesday I like our chances of being ranked today.
Here are my projections (not what I do but what I think stupid media will do).. Obviously the game tonight and tomorrow will impact this. I think after Monday Iowa is still #17..

Correct. And yes the fact we gave up as many yards as we did is concerning but our rock in the middle was out.
Let's see, we needed two blocked field goals to beat UNI and went on to win the Orange Bowl. We beat Miami of Ohio by 24 pts and the outcome of the game was never even close to being in question. Yep, we suck and the season is over. Some of you people are funny.
