Will Iowa get past ISU this year?

So mighty that they lost to 1-3 Cal and 2-4 Oregon State and won only 4 games total. How many games did that Georgia Tech team win?
You better have your buddy CyTwins on 24/7 suicide watch now with the departure of Texas and Oklahoma. They will be able to play Drake whenever they want soon.

He's probably looking at it on the glass half full side and gives them a great shot of ending their century plus drought of not winning a conference title. Though half of their fan base already thinks they got one last year even though Big 12 only list OU as champs.

No he is probably figuring after 2 good years (including prematurely this one) the Big 10 will be begging for ISU. You know, all those TV sets in Story County in a Hawkeye State with Nebbie to the west. And all that history of success. Hell Twins is so delusional, obsessed and psychotic he may honestly believe the Big 10 would kick out Iowa and add ISU.

Just comical. No different than the clown fans believing isu is all a sudden the “Flagship University” in the state of Iowa.

Who knows what happens. But ISU fans that believe other P5 conferences will be extending them invites are insane. Obviously the SEC won’t. The Big 10 isn’t even an option on a bunch of levels. So you have 3 options, PAC, ACC or try to keep the Big 12 together by adding who Colorado and an Arizona school? Do ISU fans think that 2 good years after over a 100 of being a disaster do not make a program especially when your basketball team is horrible. Good luck selling a small market team from the Hawkeye State in a different time zone to the PAC or ACC.

isu Football, we have NEVER won an outright conference title but we are better suited to joining the Big Ten, ACC or PAC-12 than anyone else because we say so.

Twinkers thinks Big Ten will invite Iowa State in to strengthen the Big Ten West..

Exactly my point. ISU is really good right now in football. For 2 years. And their basketball is terrible. And the Midwest already has Iowa, Wisconsin, Minny, Nebbie, plus Illinois schools. Was Central Florida who had 2 awesome years in football gonna get a bid to the SEC? I think their only option if shit hits the fan is the PAC. And does USC wanna play on a Saturday at 9 am PST in Ames, Iowa in November? For the ACC, do Miami or FSU wanna play in Ames in November? ISU fans need to realize their station and lane. How are conferences and teams in other conferences gonna sell ISU to their boards because of 2 good years in football?

Not true. They won the "outright regular-season championship" just last year.

Only in the minds of clown fans did isu win an “outright regular season championship”. Too bad the Big 12 doesn’t see it that way.

Then again clown fans have often been known to live in their own “reality” with “alternative facts”.

We have a top 10 football team and just won a NY6 bowl. We’ve been looking down at “big bro Iowa” for a few years now. Enjoy your coach’s twilight years.
LOL!

When will you get it? IA State is doomed to mediocrity at best, and regularly downright sucking most of the time.

🤣

No asterisks, but the Big 10 tried damn hard by taking their ball and going home...then cancelling all of non-conference (including the forfeit to ISU)...playing in front of empty stadiums...changing the rules so that Ohio State could get in the Big 10 Championship...Iowa not playing Ohio State AGAIN...

You're talking asterisks? Look in the mirror for the self-created asterisk.

Meanwhile, the Big 12 did just fine.

But, I know, it's hard to get 173 teams to agree....or however many you have this week in the conference. Never quite know.

And what's even more laughable...you say "asterisks" season...yet you were all in during hoops.
The game last year is considered a forfeit?

Is Iowa State going to play 11 conference games in the new Big 12?

While I don't like Indiana's football coach ... the guy has obviously done a good job with their program. All the same ... I think that game is AT WORST a 50-50 game for the Hawks.

However, the next game ... is the heated rivalry game AT Jack Trice! The last time we were there ... they sliced through our D like a hot knife through butter (9.3 yards per pass play ... and 4.8 yards per rush). Fortunately, for the most part, the D only bent ... but did not break.

This year though ... ISU is bringing SO MUCH back ... hoping to make a play at a really special season for that program. Will the Hawks again play the role of the matador and thwart them ... or will the Cyclones prove too much?

If history is any indicator ... what has historically hurt the Hawks against the Cyclones is overlooking them ... however, this really should not be an issue. Right now ... I still probably view this game as a 33.3-66.7 scenario ... favoring the Cyclones. Am I wrong? If so ... why?
Wow!

When we played them in Jack Trice in '19 ... we had guys in the secondary injured ... and we were fresh into breaking in a new guy at CASH. In fact, DJ Johnson did such a bad job at CASH in the first game ... we temporarily switched back to our 4-3 base until Dane Belton "found his feet."

2 years later ... our secondary is both healthy and veteran ... AND we had the CASH spot fully at our disposal when we needed it.

Moreover, Jestin Jacobs is quite impressive at the LEO spot when we go 4-3.

Flexibility on D ... with plenty of discipline and talent.

Apart from the end of the 2nd quarter and towards the end of the 4th quarter ... that D "got 'er done."

Dj played corner in that 19 isu game and was the freshman of the week for his play in the second half...

Even better, next year could be a beat down.

IOWA is a relatively young squad this year (5 Sr starters and 6 "2s") and ISU has a Senior-heavy roster. (16 starters and 7 "2s") including special teams.

This thread needs a bump. ISU has no business in the TOP 25 next week.

2-2 with their only Ws against UNLV and an FCS team.

I'm going to have a nice tall glass of Schadenfreude tonight...served very cold.

clone alternate reality

"We won the regular season big 12 championship in 2020".
Big 12: "Uh, no".

"We beat IOWA in 2020 because they forfeited"
NCAA: "Uh, no".

"Technically we beat IOWA in 2021 because we had more yards. It was a fluke".
Every sane person: "Uh no"

That's a crazy stat.
Here is another great tidbit I read before the Iowa-ISU game. ISU's best win ever as a top 10 team came this year vs UNI. How can that be determined one may ask? Because it's the only win they have ever had ranked in the top 10.

Last 3 games they've played as a top 10 team are the following.
02' L vs OU. 49-3
21' W vs UNI. 16-10
21' L vs Iowa. 27-17
