There was already the case where a hot shot recruit had almost $1million in NIL deals, didn't win the starting QB job, and transfered. NIL can't be tied to on field performance so he got to keep that money. But it is going to get to a point where they start putting transfer language in those contracts. Some guy isn't going to pony up $20,000 to promote his business to a kid who ends up playing for a conference rival the next year. Buried on the depth chart, fine, money is yours, transfer schools and trigger a clawback clause...

Seems like two well intended ideas are going to have a hard time existing together.

NIL is going nowhere. There will always be arrogant fools who see this as their chance to finally contribute to their sports team. Some will learn their lesson, but it’s the same reason so many people have gambling problems

NIL money is flowing like a busted water main right now. NIL will end up correcting itself. Once these people shelling out all this money start to realize they aren’t getting the ROI they were looking for with recruits (whatever that may be. I’m sure everyone’s different), then they will adjust and only spend the bulk of their money where it counts.

With most recruits, “investors” will start to want to see some results first. Even though that’s not allowed, they will find a way. They always do.
