Well deserved props. That was exceptionally well written Azchief32! WELL DONE!
Thanks for the kind words Y'all...what's wrestling without a little bit of fun. As you can see by 125 and 133, I started to do it straight up but I was listening to FRL at work and Christian started to talk right when I got to 141 and it all snowballed from there. Maybe next year I'll do Iowa/PSU if the jackasses see fit to schedule it.
The post by Chief was money for sure. The part I'm struggling with is the 'Willie' insert. You act as if he's someone of importance.
If they don't change the scheduling format, it'll be in Iowa City.
No...don't know where Knight got that from. Originally from central Iowa.
Why would he have posted here about a wrestling match that didn't involve Iowa?
I went over to check to make sure I wasn't spouting off. I opened 4 threads iowa was slammed in all 4 threads. the question shouldn't be why would he post it here, but why would he post it there. some folks are wrestling fans some are message board fans.does that explain it for you brucefan.
I'm not Bruce but your point is as clear as mud. Are you questioning my loyalty to the Hawks because I post on an opposing team's message board?
Anyone with any knowledge of chief's posting history knows a couple of things about him
1) He's military. So we're good there.
2) He's hilarious. Check.
3) He bleeds black and gold. No loyalty in question in my book.
He posted some funny commentary on a rival board and then got an unsolicited compliment from someone who has been pretty critical of this board. In short, who cares. Secondly, I know some on here view anything associated with Flo as the antichrist, but they did produce probably the best wrestling documentary ever (Terry), CP and Willie have come to Gilman's defense with the infamous "face mush" incident and their write up on the significance on the grapple on the gridiron was very pro Iowa.

Well not every post. Most are why Cael and co are the best ever with a little bit of anti Iowa stuff in there. When I first started posting over there, Amalone and I would go at it quite a bit. We pretty much stopped but that happens every once in awhile. Mostly, I just like talking wrestling and they have some decent folks...you know who they are because they are the non DBags that post here.
IMO, they are like the new rich...buy the gold chains, fancy cars and the mansions but still have a bit of a chip on their shoulder from being in the old neighborhood thinking they don't belong...that they'll end up back in obscurity. Iowa and Okie State are the old money. Problem with old money is that you get fat, dumb and happy...refusal to evolve.
Not justifying...just saying that things can change and people aren't half bad if you give them a chance. I bet if you sat down with Willie in a bar, you would probably have a hell of a conversation talking wrestling....
But after thinking about it and seeing some recent posts, you might just have a point. It does get old.
That's true. All depends on the character or lack thereof of the person you're talking with.
Many examples, but I'll narrow it down to two. Like many Iowa fans I've always "hated" everything Oklahoma State, from a pure rivalry and wanting to kick their ass perspective. I got the opportunity to have a couple of beers with John Smith after NCAA's in Iowa City many moons ago, and he was a pretty good, down to earth guy as far as I was concerned.
One year after National Duals in Cedar Falls, I was driving back home to Minneapolis area (drove alone and met family in Cedar Falls) and got caught in snow storm and decided to spend the night in Owatonna, which is about 45 minutes south of the Twin Cities. Checked in to my hotel, then wandered over to a sports bar about 2 blocks away. Sat there the rest of the night talking to a random Minnesota Gopher fan who was in the same boat I was in, coming back from National Duals, and heading home. To this day I couldn't tell you the guys name or where he was from (out in the boonies west of the Twin Cities I believe), but we had a darn good time, and it was wrestling talk from start to finish. It can happen.
