Win or lose this is the best overall effort I have seen from Iowa in some time!

Gilman and Clark look great. Carton made it as far as he could. Sorenson has looked good with bonus. Kemerer looked great until he ran into Askren 2.0. Gunther wrestled with tons of heart. Meyer was robbed. Brooks has been a monster. Wilcke has been great.

They simply don't have the high end talent that PSU does, but I am super impressed with how they have done so far!

Yep this is the first NCAA in a long time when through the quarter final round, all of the Hawkeye wrestlers have wrestled to their seeds/expectations, and this year they have wrestled above their seeds so far. Lets hope it continues the rest of the tournament.

Trying to keep expectations realistic for semifinals, and really hoping for some magic. I'd love for us to score 90+ team points for the first time in many years--that would be a moral victory to build on.

Definitely agree....I think many folks nationally had them pegged in a battle with VT for 4th. They are in a position now, where they control their own destiny. Its a difficult destiny, but it is there for the taking for you guys. As a PSU guy, I'm a bit nervous about 49 and 84. Really rooting for Clark at 33, though.

I'm realistic & will smash the f&@king tv if Gliman doesn't advance. Everything else will be icing on the cake for me (I'd say the same about Ckark if he was 100%).

Iowa has wrestled extremely well so far. I think going forward it's a dogfight with tOSU for 2nd, although if PSU stumbles tonight, one never knows. I agree that this is the best nationals for Iowa in quite some time.
