Winston Churchill the real villain of WW2

Inasmuch as he was an unconditional supporter of the British Empire and the colonization and economic enslavement of millions of unwilling "subjects" there is a case to be made for Churchill being a villain.

As it relates to defending global democracy from facscism through the conduct of WWII, he was a hero.

The world is not black and white.

He never was a fan of independence for India. To be fair part of the reasoning was how savage the people of India were towards themselves.

What happened in history happened.

What changes is the interpretation of history based on the ethics morals of the time period it’s being interpreted.

The world may not be black and white but the 4,000,000 innocent civilians he starved to death in Bengal were a lot closer in color to the former than the latter.

And there were many more examples of his barbarism: Afghanistan, Kenya, Iraq, etc.

Genocidal warmonger. Racist. Plagiarist. Drunkard. The list goes on.

Torbee and Trump both have the ability to see ‘fine folks’ everywhere.

Well, that wasn’t the issue in the OP’s interview. It was that Churchill was the villain of WWII for creating and prolonging suffering, and the Nazis really didn’t want to fight and were just doing the humane thing by killing millions of Jews.

He wasn't always right but saw Hitler for what he was and tried desperately to get his government and those of other European nations to heed his warnings. But in the aftermath of WW1 the peace and disarmament movements were too strong, giving Hitler a free reign until it was too late. His history of WW2 contains many of the speeches he gave in the late 30s and the inside story of how this could happen.
Trivia- Ultra would still be a top secret for decades more so it is fun to figure out where he and his writers have come up with other reasons for the UK and Allies guessing right.

From my understanding Churchill never saw a foreign policy problem a good war couldn't solve. He got the top job because he happened to be right in this particular instance.

Still a heroic leader through that war. But he along with Patton was thinking that maybe after Germany surrenders they should just go ahead and have the war with the USSR while everyone there for it.

It's telling that he lost the job right after the war ended. Britons saw that he was the man to lead the war but wasn't necessarily the man to lead the peace.

In regards to OP’s interview on Winston the villain, I believe I’ve posted this article before which details how his arrogance, stupidity and bloodthirstiness could easily classify him that way.

My response was to Torbee’s idiotic assertion that Churchill’s positives outweighed his negatives. Jmo.

I’m referring to Churchill believing that Stalin would allow free elections in Poland, etc after the war.
I think his "believing that" was for show. They wanted to get on with the world and Churchill never had any belief that Stalin would do the right thing. FDR and his team on the other hand....

Churchill didn’t cause the 1943 Bengal famine. This is the same dumb revisionism that Cooper does.

Hard Ignore on that dude. I think he gets his funding from Tenet Media.

Any of you old timers here remember when Lone Clone would pish posh anyone who suggested Churchill was a villain? Now he's nodding along vigorously in agreement while dabbing at the green jello on his face.

J. D. Vance will be on Tucker's show next week. The Trump campaign is aggressively courting the young, angry white male demographic.
