With 37 sec to go in the game, 20 sec on shot clock, Florida with the ball, Wisky down 3. Do you foul and extend the game or do you play D and hope for a stop?

Wisky played D, stole the ball, and got the ball with 15 seconds, down 3.

Showalter put up a miracle 3 to tie the game with 2.5 seconds left.

I still think you foul and extend the game.

Thoughts?

Of course you foul...They could have fouled him with under 5 sec. to go and Wisc. can only get two shots. The odds are really in Fla. favor....Even the Fla. coach made a comment on screwing up and not fouling. I think Iowa's womens team lost one late in the year because they did the same stupid thing and didn't foul...

No ...you play defense and force a turnover or missed shot. You get the ball with 17sec...which is still a ton of time. Going down 5 in that situation would be a death sentence. When you have it at a one possession game you keep it there it the shot clock allows it.

Reading is hard.

i don't know; if you don't get a steal right away, i think you foul and extend the game

if you play D and they score, you are down 5 or 6 with 17 seconds to go
