With tariffs, where do CA & MX go to buy their grains and other foodstuffs; in Trump Term 1 US farmers lost a lot of exports

It is going to happen again. Canada is not only putting reciprocal tariffs on US goods being exported there but CA companies will look to buy corn and pork from other countries.

It is winter now so there are crops being harvested in S America and elsewhere that will be cheaper.

You remember Trump causing US farmers to squeal like little pigs when China just stopped buying US grains and pork, etc in 2017 or 2018. And what happened, well Trump and the REpub congress passed emergency bills to give socialistic handouts to US farmers in 2 rounds, about 34 billion dollars worth iirc, and this was non-budgeted monies that were appropriated and added to the National Debt for all of you who scream at the size of the national debt.

I read that Brit Columbia is stopping all sales and imports of US alcohol products. Let the boycotts start.

The Dems dont have the votes by themselves to block anything in the House. And Senate bill that requires 60 votes for passage the Dems can block.

In the house the Dems would need a few REpub votes to block and a lot of the Freedom Caucus REpubs who want lower spending and budgets and some libertarians would probably vote against it.

But it is also something some Dems think would make them look bad and their own voters dont want them to vote for so we shall see.
