They will win out now. Pressure is all on Iowa. Indiana, Maryland and Nebraska are the biggest potential for losses. Going 4-1 or better is going to be a tall order, but...barring further injuries...certainly attainable.

Terrible job by the guy covering Wisconsin's Erickson. Gave him a 10 yard cushion every play....Erickson burned Illinios time and again on third down on thir 8 minute drive.

So you give Northwestern, which won at Nebraska by 2, no chance of beating Wisconsin, which also won at Nebraska by 2? The pressure is not on Iowa. Hawkeyes could loss a game and still win BT west. "Going 4-1 is going to be a tall order." Really? The five teams left to play range from bad to awful. May not be a bowl eligible team in the bunch.

Disagree, there is a lot of pressure on Wisconsin because we have the tie breaker over them. Iowa has to lose two Wisconsin has to win out. They have no margin for error and Iowa does.

I'm confident Iowa will take care of business and fight hard to win each game regardless of outside stuff like this.

I think you're a bit overconfident there. Sure, the pressure is on Wisky to keep winning to have a chance at the division title, but Iowa has the pressure of maintaining an undefeated season. And if you've watched any Big Ten games today, you'd see that Maryland and Indiana aren't exactly "bad to awful." If Iowa is going to win the division and possibly go 12-0, they are going to have to earn it, and it won't be easy.

The pressure on Iowa is going to increase every week as long as they keep winning. They will either deal with it or crap down their leg. Nothing Wisconsin or what anybody else does is going to matter.

Hopefully, Iowa gets healed up enough before the next game to continue putting pressure on other teams.

And for god sakes Nebraska is not awful. They will be ready for Iowa come Black Friday. It will save their season if they blow up Iowa's. In Lincoln, on Black Friday, against what is quickly becoming a hated rivalry. Iowa will have to play a great game to win this one.

Indiana gave up 55 points in losing at home to Rutgers. That's bad. Maryland fired it's coach. You don't fire a coach unless you are bad.

Nebraska is bad. 3 wins and 5 losses. Good Cornhusker wins? None. They're bad.

"Deal with it or crap down their leg". Let me guess....motivational speaker!

Maryland right?

Say it again. Maryland.

One and only game!

Stupid fretting. Iowa plays the best they can. What happens is why we watch the game.

Each and every game starts tied. Then the battle begins.

Get fired up fans. Lots of fun yet to come.
Iowa is good and they WILL COMPETE!!

GO HAWKEYES

Maryland: 2 wins and 5 losses. Bad or awful? Take your pick. Minnesota, 4 wins and 3 losses, probably won't win another game. Bad or awful? Close call. Purdue? Awful. We can all agree on that.

I agree if the hawks play well we should be ok but with the exception of Purdue I don't see any easy wins on our schedule

As far as Maryland is concerned the best possible thing happened today. They have our attention and they lost. Perfect for a beat down in Iowa City.

I see a lot of idiots piling on here but you are right.
Wisky will win out - they have found a qb and scheme that works with a Oline worse than they are use to.
Indy and Mary look like handfuls for us if healthy, even bigger problem with injuries..
Those who have prepaid for rooms and tickets in Indy need to be sweating.

Well, I suppose you can have that viewpoint - the same viewpoint as ESPN - that just about every team in the Big Ten sucks. I guess my viewpoint is what I hope the team's is - that the Big Ten is a very physical conference; that every team in the Big Ten could potentially play a great game; that Iowa hasn't had enough success to take any team lightly; and that Iowa is going to have to prepare well and play hard if they want to achieve the goals that they and their fan base think they can achieve. But that's just me.

I'm not saying Iowa doesn't have to play well to win out. But Wisconsin's remaining schedule isn't easier than Iowa's.

Iowa has Minnesota and Maryland at home, Wisconsin has them on the road.
Iowa has to go to Indiana, Wisconsin gets Rutgers at home.
Iowa has to go to Nebraska, Wisconsin has Northwestern at home.

Only real difference is Iowa's game at home against Purdue.

Iowa won on the road at Wisconsin. Wisconsin won on the road at Nebraska. Iowa won by 30 on the road at Northwestern. Northwestern won at Nebraska. Connect the dots. And Go Hawks!!

I think this is spot on. They played an extremely emotional game for a new coach against a blue blood opponent in an NFL stadium. They will have a hard time bringing that energy level again next week. I just hope Iowa isn't too rusty coming off the bye week and can take it to 'em. I'm also hoping that Indiana is physically and emotionally worn out after their last 4 games, and come out with nothing in the tank after their bye week.

Don't you understand? We beat Wisconsin AT Wisconsin. Today they won a game against a team that Iowa has already beaten, so obviously we are ****ed. Season's over. We should just forfeit the rest of the games. If this isn't some weird troll then it's the most idiotic thread I've ever seen.

Nebraska is not awful? Huh.

Nebby is 2-5. Sure yeah they're in the hunt for the NC

Unbelievable

Unless Nebraska can find a running game, they have very little chance of beating Iowa. It may or may not be close, but I don't see this Iowa team losing to a one dimensional offense.

For the record we lost to ISU last year - they had zero dimensions on offense and the worst defense in the Midwest.

I suppose that's why I said "this Iowa team." If you can't see significant differences between this year's team and last year's, I'll just take Mark Twain's advice and check out of this debate.

Ok , the calendar turns over and it's a new team. Got it.
That's football = every week, month, season crap can happen.
Unless you're loaded with talent you can lose to almost everyone.
If you think that is Iowa then you need to get a fricking clue.

This team and season are nothing like last year. This week off seems to have some people forgetting how good this Iowa team is.

Yes that is exactly what that means, new season, new players=different team

I disagree. They are awful. 2015 Iowa is our best team in years and 2015 Nebraska may be their worst in... decades. I think you have to go back to 1959 to find a 3-5 neb team.

I expect an easy win. Especially since the skers are likely to drop two more games before we meet.

That is exactly what concerns. Can you imagine the mouth breathers from Nebraska on this board should they derail our season and beat us with their worst team and our best? Yikes.

And no, Nebraska is not awful. Are they good? But for crying out loud, they have lost 5 games by a total of 13 points. They will be ready for Iowa in Lincoln.

Pressure is what you allow it to be. If you maintain a mindset of constantly attacking, which Iowa seems to be preaching and doing so far this year, pressure ceases to be a factor. Past Iowa teams probably would have felt pressure in this kind of situation. Well, to be fair, recent Iowa teams wouldn't have come close to 7-0, but in any case, I don't think this year's bunch is going to let pressure be an issue. If they stay on the attack and let the chips fall where they may, they'll be in good shape -- and that's exactly what I think they're going to do.

You can stop at "they have lost 5 games"

They will lose two more by the time we play. IMO- 3-5 teams are awful. Your opinion obviously varies.

Feel free to be concerned as you like, I am much more concerned about Indiana than neb.
