I think we get it.
That's good, because lots of people still won't admit the obvious. We still have people claiming the increased viewership is because people have suddenly awakened to the great product that women's basketball has always been. CC is just a coincidence.

In fact, that's as crazy as thinking a two-time impeached "president" who is a pathological liar, egomaniac, racist, psychopath, sex pervert, woman-hating felon could make a democratic nation great.

And in fact, without CC, the WNBA would still be an unknown nothing because, without CC, it is almost as entertaining as an elementary school chess tournament. Almost.

Maybe it's time for an internet break?

The NaLyssa Smith factor strikes again. With her heading to Dallas, all those fans will be watching the Wing now. Oh well…it was fun while it lasted, Fever fans.

Why does this stuff irritate you?
It's a good question. I think because I interpret a level of "if you aren't with us, you're against" us when it comes to discourse these days. People hesitate to see nuance and are just focused on being right. When I see people piling on heaps of information to try to prove a point it rubs me the wrong way.

So, we should ignore the factual numbers in the original post?

We should also ignore the fact that the WNBA has existed for 28 years (since 1997) yet the Top 11 all-time viewed games involve Caitlin Clark?

Or…..you could just let people celebrate Caitlin Clark without searching endlessly for negative interpretations. It’s so much more simple than you’re making it.

I love the stat. I love that she is the best in the world and I love watching her. I just don't know why a thread is necessary. It feels to me like as much as people love Caitlin, they can't stand other women who play basketball. Hell, you have many, many times celebrated her decision not to participate in unrivaled. Why was that? Didn't you want to get to watch her play?

I started the thread because it has all the viewership numbers going back 28 years.

And in Caitlin's ONE YEAR, she is part of the 11 most watched WNBA games ever.

I thought that was pretty cool.

Sorry for the outrage this has caused you.

It's definitely cool. There is a larger pattern here, though, and I feel as though you are making a concerted effort to prove a point about women's basketball being unworthy in general which I find petty and unnecessary. If I am wrong, I apologize, and I look forward to plenty of evidence to the contrary.

You don't know why a thread is necessary but you can't stay out of the thread. Ok

I appreciate you posting these stats. I had no idea and probably wouldn’t have known. CC represents everything g good about Iowa and deserves to be celebrated.

Seems like viewers had some reason to watch Indiana Fever games. I've posted before, if there was a player that had the star power to sellout every regular season college arena, home and away, conference tourney, NCAA tourney they participated in a season, prove it.

Sorry Paige, you're an 18 point scorer with no drama.

JuJu, you're good but it takes more than good to reach "generational". That means once in a generation. Caitlin did more than score. Led the nation is assists while scoring those points. Her personality, intelligence and demeanor (and drama) changed the way people look at the game.

Just saw a stat and apologize if it's already been posted, but CC's WNBA 3-point avg. is 28.09 ft. No player, NBA or WNBA is close to this.

Edit: No comparable NCAA career data is available, but I believe her Senior year or maybe the B1G section a 26.7 ft avg was publicized.

I think people know by now that I'm gonna call this kind of thing out.

I don't know if you were aware of your options, but you aren't required to read threads or posts that you know by the title or poster are going to cause you heartburn. The end user agreement doesn't obligate you to do so.
