Any one else notice Woodbury leads the team in free throw shooting percentage this year at 82.1%? What an improvement!

I remember watching him play in high school and was a 50% FT shooter his Sr year and 34% his Jr Yr. Several times he had to be taken out close games in the final minute of the game because they would just foul him.

Yes...it has been noted...really has a much better stroke...also looks confident at the line. Amazing improvement at this stage in his career. Good for him.

Along with Mike, Woody has been great this year. He has stayed out of foul trouble, something I thought he was really going to struggle with. His free throws are much better, as you noted and he is really playing well. Could not be prouder of these seniors and what they have accomplished and have the potential to do. Go Hawks!!

Really happy to see him have some success, and as you noted his FT% improvement is remarkable and speaks to his dedication and work ethic. So many things Woody does don't show up in the box score but its great to see him averaging nearly 9pt and 6rb per game while shooting 82% at the line. If Woody would start converting on those close range shots with more regularity, he could easily be averaging 14pts per game and the coaches might be more inclined to run stuff through the post more often. His post skills are really underrated and his passing skills are excellent, but until he is able to finish with more consistency, you can't blame the staff for using him more on the perimeter setting screens and getting others open. Love seeing Adam and the rest of the seniors having a great final year, still a lot of work to do, but they have to be pleased with where the stand going into their bye week.

He is shooting around 55% from the field.

which speaks to a few things...first Woody is taking good shots...he has been darn good from the elbow and some of those 10-15ft jumpers, etc. Second, while 55% is pretty good, its not great for a post player, in fact it doesn't put him in the top 100 for FG%...it could easily be at or above 65% if it weren't for all the missed bunnies, seems like there are one to two per game. You're not going to make them all, but going strong to the rim would help in those situations, I think he fades ever so slightly when working around the rim that it increases his margin for error. Can't blame him as he is afraid of his shots being blocked, but erasing some of those missed point blank shots would be great :)

Really happy for his success so far this year, the neat thing is there is still room for improvement and seeing what a hard worker he is, none of us should be surprised if he reaches new heights by the end of the season.

I recall him shooting around 50% or a little better as a freshman, it's truly astonishing how much he has improved his free throw shooting. If the rest of his game had improved that much he would be a lottery pick.

It's really too bad we didn't have the luxury of red shirting him his freshman year. It takes a while for many big men to catch up to their growth and, with the way he's gotten better each year, one more year could have produced even better results. That said, I really like what Woody brings to this team on a daily basis. If he can keep hitting that short jumper that could pose one more problem for defenses.

He does so much that is over looked and doesn't fill the stat sheet. Just watch the minutes he missed in the Michigan St game to see what he does for this team. Anyone thinking he was going to come in and average 15/10 is the fool

Really nice to see his FT% up there! Anything in the 80's is awesome! Just works Hard.

Woodbury's been playing well all year. The difference is he's getting help in the paint from Baer, Uhl and Uthoff. Guards are playing better too.

I'm going to say the same about Tyler Cook.

It would be awesome for him to have a couple of statistically nice games. He always works hard and gives good effort. He is very confident on the short jumper game this year.
