You don’t mean his brother Bryce Drew who coaches at Grand Canyon? Not sure how IU would be more appealing than Baylor, though it would be in his home state and that’s understandably a very good reason.

Indiana BB is basically Nebraska FB. They think they are better than what they are and have an over inflated view of themselves.

Purdue and Butler have been more relevant than IU lately. And that has to be infuriating for Hoosier fans.
Unless they’re pooling their resources to be more competitive in football (possible, but waaaay too early to tell) they can absolutely get any coach to at least listen. They just need to show they’re serious and stop settling for retreads or NBA washouts.
They paid players when coach K was there and now do it legally. Huge NIL funding.
