Watched Taylor and Burroughs on demand then sub needed for rest of videos. Oh well.
Taylor still doesn't look like his old self. Father time catches up with us all I guess.
Although I generally don't have a big problem with freestyle rules the differences between how passivity was called in those two matches was pretty funny. Taylor gets put on the clock @1:30 even though opponent had scored a TD (off a counter). No passivity calls at all in a Burroughs match which had less action and scoring...

The Russian was looking for phantom blood to stop the action. Jamie Hernandez broke a returning Illinois state champ about a month ago and the kid did the same thing. On several occasions he would point to invisible blood on the mat trying to get a breather.
Man, I wish we could get some more par terre offense from our guys. Looked like Snyder could have gotten a lace pretty easy after his last TD. Not that I'm complaining about the gold medalist.

Not 100% sure, but I think it's because Frank's last score was a one-point move, while the Russian's last score was a two-point move. I seem to recall Ramos beat Coleman Scott on similar criteria at the Olympic trials or US nationals last year.
Not taking anything from Taylor who was tremendous, but his opponent looked to be pushing 40 with a bit of a beer gut. Not the classic Russian build.
Pretty sure they said 2013 junior world champ. Don't think he's pushing 40.

I sure appreciate being pointed to watch this on track....but I'm struggling with how to tell when they wrestle again.....are all the pool A matches on Mat 1....so you just have to check on it periodically?
doesnt look like the Russians place a premium on conditioning....wonder if all the scrutiny on them doping has forced them off the juice
Haha...Frank is one of my favorite PSU guys. One of the less talented guys among their whole "Cael Evolved" crew but scraps for everything he gets.
Didn't see the match...did he get his hair cut? If not, they might be penalizing him just for that.
We are going again tomorrow. BTW, USA Wrestling on Twitter does a great job on posting times and such

The schedule I see is that session 1&2 was 9:30-13:30 (Iran time) Thursday and session 3 is 16:30 Thursday. It looks like they will be back on today... Now I need to figure out the time coversion...
