Not in my opinion, they have incompatible positions on most issues. If Trump put Sanders on his ticket he would lose his supporters and fail to pick up Sander's. A Trump/Palin ticket would have a better chance and it would have zero.

They may be pissed, but they aren't going to jump in bed with the bigoted King of Capitalism. If Trump is running 3rd party there is probably a more acceptable R they would pick first. And I think you may underestimating how much putting Bernie on the ticket would hurt Trump's brand with his supporters. Neither Trump nor Sander's are centrists who might pull a coalition together from the middle independents as I see the field. Now a Jim Webb and a John Kasich could pull off your vision if anyone cared about them.
