Would you rather be a 10 than a 9 if it puts Iowa in Des Moines?

Except for the honor of the thing, it seems to be better in two ways. First, of course, would be the chance to play in Des Moines. Second would be a (presumably) weaker second round opponent.

As I Cyclone fan, I was thinking of this because a few days ago the Cyclones were seen as a 7 with a good chance for DSM, but now they've won a couple of games in the tournament, they probably played themselves into a higher seed someplace else.

I would rather be a 7 in Des Moines.

Never happen.

I’d rather be a 9 & play Duke in Columbia in the second round than play in Des Moines with 15,000 Hawkeye fans in attendance.

Fairly certain if Iowa was a 7/10 they wouldn’t put them in Des Moines. Wouldn’t make much sense to favor a 7/10 team

My preferred seedings assuming no top 4 seed is in play...

6 - favored in round 1 for sure, and a potentially winnable path to the elite eight

7 - probably favored in round 1, and a potentially winnable path to the elite eight

10 - slight dog in first round, and a potentially winnable path to elite eight

8 - probably favored in round 1, but playing a 1 seed to make the sweet sixteen

9 - probably a dog in round 1, and playing a 1 seed even if you survive

Kentucky and Tennessee would be the likely two seeds we’d have to play. Not really different from Gonzaga, unc, or Virginia.

It would take a small miracle for Iowa to make it past the first week, so it's a moot point to me.

I think most Iowa fans agree after twenty years of ineptness the only real interest is in an Iowa team capable of making the second week. The venue is an afterthought.

Not so much a small miracle as hot shooting - this team is capable, I don't see it happening, but they are capable
